HISTORY
One day in a galaxy not too far away, Mari was in her religion class, bored out of her mind. It could have been an illusion due to Mari's condition, but she saw a penguin flying past her window, which had been her favorite animal for a long time. Well, as if an explosion had occured in the classroom, Mari ran out of the room, pushing people down and jumping on desks in search of a pencil and paper, until finally the birth of Pen and Boopsy had occurred on a piece of Mari's binder paper.

1. What is the zapper?
Well, that is a very good question, why? because it was the first one asked to me. Now, the zapper is Pen's gun, but it doesn't kill anyone except Gilgerdorf. What it does, is it turn the criminals into fish. Though the earlier series is not on-line, in the first episode, Pen turns, "stupid guy" (which is one of the leading criminals of that time) into a fish and then eats him....
because, DUH!, Pen loves fish,
they're his favorite food. Then in the episode, "Gilgerdorf's final frontier", Penny also uses the zapper to kill Gilgerdorf.
2. Why does the zapper only kill Gilgerdorf and turn the rest into fish?
The zapper only kills Gilgerdorf because he is the first character that was completely 100% evil, other than his love for Penny. But even though he loved Penny, he first wanted to bring her to the side of evil. In other words, Gilgerdorf was simply too evil to be turned into a fish.
In the very first episode, the criminal, "stupid guy" gets turned into a fish, because, though he was evil enough to steal things, he was pretty stupid,
making him only, about 20% evil.
