Size
Galápagos penguins can be 20 inches (50 cm) tall. They can weigh 5˝ pounds (2·5kg)
Where are they found?
Galápagos penguins are only found near the Galapagos Islands near the equator. These islands are near Ecuador.

What do they eat?
Galápagos penguins eat small fish.
Main predators
On land the Galápagos penguins main predators are Cats, Dogs and Rats. In the sea its Sharks, Fur Seals and Sea Lions.
Highlights
They are the rarest of all penguins, the population is estimated to be between about 1,000 and 2,000 birds.

Their breeding season is May/July time. Their nest is a few stones arranged in a circle in caves and crevices, in the lava, sometimes as little as 3 feet (90cm) above the high-water mark.

They frequently breed alongside flightless Cormorants or Boobies.
