I suppose everyone in our American culture strives to gain the same things in respect to love, but I still find it alarming how many of them take so long to find it. I have been fortunate enough to find a partner who loves me takes care of me and beats me when I am out of line. She is the yin to my yang, the up to my down and all those other cliche lines. She is also tiny and fierce with an attitiude that makes me realise that I am a person who likes a challenge. For every moment of energy I put in I am granted another moment with her sweet and beautiful big ol' head and that makes it all worth while.
Which brings me to my last point, your "one true love." Every time we fall in love we feel as if it is "the one," the person whom we will spend the rest of our days with. Almost everyone knows the feeling of being caught up in a relationship and in that moment, they themselves can't imagine being with anyone else. That relationship may end. and if it does, what is true love? A valid question, is it a matter of chemical reactions in the brain, is there some metaphysical aspect of love that no one can see or understand, or is it fated for you to find that one person for whom you were destined.
If it is all so predetermined then the only reason we spend time on other relationships is so that we might grow and learn from the experience. So that when we find our one true love, it will all work out like it is supposed to. Whatever the truth is love is out there waiting for you to find it, so I guess that means we all better get going. Best of luck finding your "One True Love." Whether they are a guy or gal, tall or short, mellow tempered or a fiesty rapist werewolf, (hey if that's what you're into who am I to judge?).
