Backstory: A leader of a small but formidable gang in Gangster High,
the Viper is a man who inspires fear in most of the small fry in
school for his ruthlessness. He's not really qualified to be part of
the track team, he just threatened those that didn't throw their
tryouts. However, the crooked coaches liked the dirty tactics he
employed in the races, and thus let him stay anyway. Viper has a
kinder side, as he loves small children. He tries his hardest to
hide this when around those who would take advantage of it.

Special moves:

Special move #1
Move name: Snakebite Lace
What it does: Viper swings his right hand like a claw.
Damage: **
Speed: *****
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
A simple melee attack. It comes and goes very quickly, making it
a great combo ender. The damage isn't the best, but that's not all.
It poisons the opponent. Their life will slowly deplete until either
a certain amount of time passes, or if they pick up an antidote.
That's all there is to it for him, really. You can't stack status
alignments on the enemy; only one may be active at once. Choose
wisely.

Special move #2
Move name: Sleeping Nail
What it does: Viper now swings his LEFT hand like a claw. Hm, what
could the difference be?
Damage: **
Speed: *****
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
More or less identical to the above move, but instead of draining
life, it drains stamina.

Special move #3
Move Name: Paralysis Gaze
What it does: Viper performs a claw-like uppercut with his right
hand. Hm, a differnence in how he swings... what could this mean?
Damage: **
Speed: *****
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
Same as above, but now this slows the victim down entirely and
lowers their jump height somewhat. To counteract this, however,
their stamina expenditure is lowered as long as they're paralyzed.

Special move #4
Move Name: Incompetence Hex
What it does: Viper does that claw-like uppercut... with his left
hand, this time. Yawn.
Damage: **
Speed: *****
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
It's identical to the rest, but guess what it does now? It locks
the enemy's special moves. This lasts the longest of all the
"curses" Viper's special attacks cause. The one special attack you
should use depends on who you're facing.

--
Character strategy: The short gang leader, Viper, is yet another
one of those mostly all-arounder types. His life meter and jump
height are both a little low, but what he brings to the table is
status ailments. Each of his special attacks, while generally
identical in terms of function, leave a different ailment on the
opponent. One poisons their life, one drains the stamina bar, one
weakens their movement, and one locks out special moves. Each one
is useful against various characters; the movement-down seems to be
the most frequently used, but the poison is perfect for finishing
off those who are moments away from hitting KO status. Combos are
his best friend; don't hesitate to perform one if you have a clear
shot at it so you can tack on one of those ailments.

Introduction dialogue:
*Viper appears with a couple of his friends, holding up his hand to
halt you in your tracks.*
Viper: What's your hurry? Sure, you're a runner, but it can't be so
urgent... not when I've been looking for you.
*Viper crosses his arms with a grin.*
Viper: I'm asking for nothing more than a race. After all the ones
you've been through, it can't be too much to grant, can it?
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept his challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*Viper snaps his fingers, then points to either side around him. His
friends part.*
Viper: Splendid... we both know the rules, we both know the route, and
we both know what the other wants, am I right?
*A brief pause.*
Viper: Good. Let's keep it clean... as clean as it can get in a
competition like this!
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
*Viper laughs.*
Viper: You dare say "no?!" ...Lucky for you, this is one scenario I
can accept "no" for an answer in. It is simply just a race.
*Viper turns away to leave, his friends eyeing you.*
Viper: All I ask now, then, is to come back when you're ready. No
more, no less. I'll be keeping an eye on your future races...
*Now his buddies turn around to leave.*
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*Viper's buddies look a bit pissed. Viper himself, however, raises a
hand to get them to stand down.*
Viper: It's all that I expected from you. Thank you for your time...
*Viper goes to leave without saying another thing. His friends follow
suit, giving the impression that there's more to this than he's
letting on.*
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*Viper's friends laugh at your loss. Viper raises a hand to get them
to cool it.*
Viper: Effort's nothing to be laughed at. I appreciate effort... as
futile as it tends to be in the end. As for you...
*Viper now points to you.*
Viper: This isn't the last you've seen of me. You'll be racing me
again when you feel up to it. I can accept the possibility of a fluke.
*Viper and company begin to walk off.*
Viper: I hope you don't forget.
*goes to point calculation screen*
