Backstory: "Thumbs," the local information guy of Prison High, has
been serving a very long juvenile sentence for a number of counts of
grand theft. If it exists, he can get his hands on it. His
kleptomaniac tendencies haven't slowed down in prison, and in fact
has almost cost him his life as seen with the stitches in his head.
Even worse, people are betting on him to help Prison High win the
national competition. If his school loses, he knows it ain't gonna
be pretty.

Special move #1
Move name: Thieves' Claim
What it does: Thumbs snaps what looks like a whip towards the
nearest weapon or item, and pulls it towards him. If there's an
enemy close by that's carrying something, he'll take that instead.
Effect: ***
Speed: *****
Duration: *
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy:
This move serves a double purpose - it gives him the longest
item/weapon grab range in the game (anywhere from 1/3 screen is
game!), and he can snatch stuff off of enemy characters as well.
However, he can't choose which one he gets; whatever's closest will
get taken. Rememebr that his build is rated as "Bones." Snatching a
very heavy weapon or item will slow him down heavily. The best part
of this move is that it's almost instant, and thus something you can
use with confidence and a sly smile.

Special move #2
Move name: Tagalong Trouble
What it does: Thumbs will snap his whip-like tool at the opponent's
legs. If he succeeds, they'll be tied up at the legs as he runs
forward, dragging them along for the ride.
Effect: ****
Speed: *
Duration: ****
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy:
This allows Thumbs to drag the opponent behind him for a while if
he can get close enough to hit with this (you don't have to be *THAT*
close, just around 1/3 screen range). While being dragged, the
opponent won't take any damage normally unless Thumbs drags them
through hazards or another racer steps on them (the damage varies by
the stampeding person's height and weight). This isn't all fun and
games - Thumbs will move a bit slower, the speed penalty being
greater if he's dragging larger and heavier characters. His stamina
also drains a bit faster. The opponent can also escape by rapidly
tapping the attack button, but Thumbs can release them early by
pressing the O button. Either way, the opponent will be left knocked
down on the ground, allowing Thumbs a clean getaway. Thumbs can't
use this if he's carrying an item. Depending on the size of the
character, Thumbs tends to only be able to drag opponents for five
or six seconds at a time. This is unblockable, but too bad you can't
use it in combos.

--
Character strategy: Despite his extremely thin build, Thumbs is all
about abusing weapons and items. He doesn't have any special moves
involving them, but his increased item grab range is no doubt a real
advantage for his game. His high speed and good jump allows him to
play as a straight runner, which he'll most likely have to. He's not
a very tough character when it comes to fighting. He's far from the
worst, but certainly not the best. If you do end up getting close,
however, drag the opponent along and try to run in front of any
incoming traffic for the most effect.

Introduction dialogue:
*Thumbs is seen maneuvering a coin across his fingers.*
Thumbs: The stuff... you got the stuff. The stuff. Plenty of stuff.
You don't want to share this... stuff, do you?
*Thumbs raises his head up, as if to show off his neck to you.*
Thumbs: Yeeeeah, that. That stuff. The stuff people are talking about.
You've got the stuff of a marathon runner, yeeeeeees?
*Now he lowers his head to look at you at eye level.*
Thumbs: Show me the stuff?
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept his challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*Thumbs... grins.*
Thumbs: This stuff... now I get to see if you have it like everyone
else says.
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
*Thumbs goes back to moving his coin across his knuckles.*
Thumbs: You don't want to share the stuff? ...You probably don't have
it. Come back if you have... the stuff. Same time... same place. But
bring the stuff...
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*Thumbs adops his creepy grin again, but this time he's reached out
to touch your shoulder.*
Thumbs: You got the stuff... the stuff I can't take. The stuff nobody
can take... but the stuff you can share, like with me.
*Thumbs leans back and lets go of your shoulder, going back to do that
coin trick again.*
Thumbs: Keep the stuff. You won't lose it if you don't want to...
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*Thumbs is sitting down again... but the coin's missing.*
Thumbs: No stuff... you have no stuff to take. No stuff to show. No
need to be here if you have no stuff. Did you not bring the stuff?
Then... you don't need to be here.
*goes to point calculation screen*
