Stage Sheet
--
School name: Rocky High

Description: As you start off from the school, you'll find yourself on
relatively unfamiliar ground. The ground is kinda screwed up, there's a
lot of debris lying around, large and small. Some you can break, but most
of them are unbreakable. Also note that at the bottom of the screen is a
cliff, and you *can* fall off from there, only to reappear again at where
you fell off, with a bit of life gone. This section occupies only one
screen, and it's basically an 'intro' section of what's to come.
In the next section the road turns a bit more narrow, and there's random
weapons that you can find on the ground. Be sure to pick it up, and fling
it at the nearest runner in hopes of knocking him/her off the cliff! At
times you can find a thug or two, but they shouldn't pose much of a
problem. Then, at the end of this section you'll find a ladder. Climb up
this ladder to the next section. Just to make this more fun, the road's
really narrow near the ladder, and if you get pushed off you might just
fall off the cliff.
Up the ladder, you'll find a bunch of thugs and BS:FM Fanatics hoarding
at you like rabid fanboys and thugs. Fend them off, and by the way, now
the top section is also a cliff, since you're at a plateau. If you go too
far off either way, you'll fall off. So be careful! Anyhow, after this
welcome committee, it's time to move forward! And then you'll find a
huge rock somewhere midway. If your attack is 4 or above, you can punch
at the boulder and it'll reveal a secret tunnel of sorts. However, it
only allows a maximum of 4 people before it collapses. Anyway back to
the main route, as you go further you'll reach a cliff. If your jump is
good enough (3 or above), you can jump off this cliff and land on the
other side, which has a ladder that leads down (and you'll have to climb
down of course). Well for those who can't jump as well, you'll have to
jump too. Just that you'll land at the next section with a good deal of
damage.
After reaching this section (depending on how you reach this area - by
ladder or by falling flat, the latter will land at about half a screen
before the ladder), you'll find yourself on narrow ground. You can see a
river down there, but for now, ignore the river since you'll come back
immediately if you fall off. In this section, there's some holes which
will make you feel like you're playing Super Mario Bros (and no, you
can't run through them =P), so good control skills is required. This
section is fortunately only one screen, and you'll find yourself in the
next section.
-
ALTERNATE ROTE: After entering the newfound batcave (BATMAN! BATMAN!),
you'll find a tunnel that leads down. Jump into the tunnel, and you'll
start sliding downwards!
Well there's little special things to note here, aside from the fact you
will exit this tunnel at the river, mentioned at the section below.
-
Here is where it gets trickier. There's random debris falling from above,
and some are large boulders. Depending on the size of the boulder, your
character can be knocked into the river below. If you want, you can also
jump off the cliff into the river intentionally too. Here's a list of the
defense rating/boulder size relationship for getting knocked into the
river:
Small boulders - Defense < 2, hurts a bit
Medium boulders - Defense < 3, hurts okay
Large boulders - Defense < 4, ouchage
Also if your attack is higher than 3, you can punch at the falling
boulders, but only the ones with an attack rating of 5 can break large
boulders. If you get hit by the boulder, you'll still get thrown into the
river regardless of whether you broke the falling boulder or not. If you
appear from the tunnel (which is at the very start of the section), and
your reaction is fast enough, you can press jump (regardless of your jump
rating) and grab onto the cliff, and climb up from there (no, you can't
climb down from the road). Otherwise you'll fall into the river. This is
the only chance you have. Well as for the guys who fell into the river,
sorry, you're stuck in the river, which fortunately is flowing to the
direction you're heading. You can also swim as well, just to get faster.
The river section is referred to as an alternate section from hereon. As
for the road, it's not that long but you're still quite likely to fall
off the cliff and into the river. This section is only one and a half
screen long.
If you're lucky enough to survive the random falling boulders, you'll be
in heaven. Well not literally, but this section is so easy you can just
breeze through it without much problem. It's basically running downhill,
with little debris stopping your way. It's quite long and boring
actually, but it's your reward for surviving the falling boulders.
-
ALTERNATE ROUTE: As for the unlucky ones (Har har, you think I'm giving
you an advantage for falling into the water? Think again!) who fell into
the river, well you *do* travel faster, but remember the boulders are
still falling on top of your head, which means that you can still get hit
by these boulders while swimming. As per usual, depending on their size
they can hurt like hell. Also, during your swimming session you'll find
some rocks that stick outside the river. If you hit one of them head on,
not only you'll get a good deal of damage, you'll also get a delay as
your character recovers from the impact. Unfortunately, you cannot jump
while swimming, so you'll have to try and avoid these obstacles. This
section is also one and a half screen long.
And what's the next section? It's a WATERFALL! Augh. Fortunately there's
a few umbrellas that somehow comes along with the flow. These umbrellas
can break your throw, which is very useful for this kind of situation.
Well as for the unfortunate ones, enjoy the fall (and ouchage)! At the
foot of the waterfall, you'll be able to swim forward and enter the next
map, which is also the finish line. If your character gets KOed during
the fall, you'll find him/her floating towards the next screen flat,
instead of turning into an angel and fly away.
-
Alright, this is the finisher! Run run run run! Because there's a few
BS:FM Fanatics and Disgruntled Farmers around, you might get some delay.
As for our water-stuck friends, they can get off the water by swimming
next to the ground (which is now about level with the water), or just
keep swimming forward. Well for others, you can also jump into the water
just for the heck of it. Both ways will reach the finish line anyway.

Enemies found: Street Thugs, BS:FM Fanatics, Disgruntled Farmers
Weapons found: Beer bottle, broken beer bottle, metal rod, garbage can
lid, professional assistance.
Items found: Umbrella
Traps found: Falling boulders, rocks that stick out from the water in
the river.

Strategy/Comments: If you're helluva tough, this stage is for you. It's
a survival stage, plain and simple. And if your defense is high enough,
it'll be quite easy. Overall, this stage favors brute strength over pure
speed, and the ones with nothing but speed will find themselves KOed
early. The lack of items is also quite glaring, since you are basically
running on abandoned ground.
