Distinguishing feature: He's a friggin' green anthropomorphic fox. What
else do you need to know? Oh yeah, TGH wears a madras-plaid button-up
shirt over his shirt, and there's obviously a fox tail sticking out of a
hole in his warmups located just above his butt.
Backstory:
A lurker at Orochinagi, the Green "Herring" is a young green fox in
who doesn't converse much, but has some nice stuff to share whenever he
does. Of course, sometimes he can go on and on about certain things,
such as how bad certain fighting games are! Travelling around
Orochinagi in a vehicle specially-made for him known as the
"Lurkmobile," the Herring is a great friend of Emmy, and like him, is
an IAQ writer. However, he has yet to make much of an impact on the
IAQ world, other than being a sporadic helper to Clash of Galaxies. To
this day, he is working on his own IAQ to make himself known to the
world. Oh, and his favorite Sonic the Hedgehog character is Tails, who
he resembles a lot (although he has only one tail.)

Special moves:

Special move #1
Move name: Redesign Blast
What it does: The Herring, with white energy in his hands, thrusts both
palms forward and sends a white energy ball with black Courier New text
characters flying in and out of it. If it connects, the ball explodes
and a huge explosion of Courier New text characters will occur, causing
the opponent to change appearance temporarily.
Damage: N/A
Speed: ***
Range: Long (***)
Notes/Strategy:
This may very well be the most unique move in the game. When this
move connects, it will not do any damage, but the opponent's appearance
will change in several different ways chosen at random. Different hair
and clothing colors are guaranteed (even those outside the school's
uniform colors,) but their skin can change color as well. The muscle
build, height, hairstyle, voice, facial hair (if any,) and even gender
can change, too! It's also possible for the opponent to have their
clothing changed to different things, even stuff outside the norm in
Battle Schools like a tank top, boxer shorts, a one or two-piece bikini
for the women, a total lack of upper-body clothing for the men, sandals,
and also silly extras such as wrist bandages, watches, multiple belts on
a part of the body for no reason, differently-colored hair bows, the
infamous Mr. Smiley mask from Ragnarok Online, Sonic character gloves,
and fake animal tails, ears, paws, feet, and muzzles. Speaking of
which, sometimes, the enemy turns into an anthropomorphic animal of
varying colors, becoming species such as wolves, tigers, otters, mice,
horses, minotaurs, seals, and more. For crying out loud, the opponent's
NAME is changed as well! Their new name is chosen from a list of
generic names that can be seen at the end of the sheet. Of course,
changing appearance isn't the ONLY thing this move does. It also
completely screws around with the enemy's stats, again in
randomly-chosen fashions. They could become the absolute worst runner
in the game with all stats at one star, or the greatest of them all with
all five-star stats. Again, it's all completely random. The enemy
could get other characters' distinguishing features as well, and in
fact, there's also a rare chance that the enemy will turn into another
Battle Schools character with their exact appearance and voice and get
their move set, stats, and special abilities (if any) temporarily! As
for the REST of the move's stats, this, with the obvious exception of
everything I mentioned, is basically a totally basic projectile that
goes full-screen at average speed. You can use it as many times as
you like, but remember not to use up all your stamina, and also remember
that this move does no damage. It IS fun, however, to do this over and
over on other people to see what they'll become afterward. The effects
last for five seconds.

Special move #2
Move name: Tail Attack
What it does: In a fashion mimicking Tails, the Greenie spins and swipes
his tail across the air in front of him to knock anybody within range
down.
Damage: **
Speed: ****
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy:
This is a basic knockdown attack with the range of 1 1/2 character
spaces. It's also quite fast and has little start-up and recovery.
Since it's so fast and safe and it actually does damage -- albeit
below-average damage -- this is preferred as a combo ender over the
Redesign Blast.

Special move #3
Move name: Caffeine Overload
What it does: TGH pulls a huge bottle of "Lightning Pop" (a generic
soft drink conceived instead of a label-less bottle so that the
developers don't get sued by any soda companies) out of absolutely
nowhere and chugs all its contents down before dropping it on the
ground. Damn littering bastard!
Effect: *****
Speed: **
Duration: ***
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
This is slow to start up, but when it's actually completed, TGH
will receive a HUGE boost in speed in compensation for even worse
defense. The increases and decreases are similar to Ursula's
Overclocking, except his defense gets lowered instead of his stamina.
Also remember the poor start-up. This is best used when you're
getting close to the finish line so you can speed past everybody else
and win. The effect lasts or six seconds.

Special move #4
Move name: Minamo-gakure no Jutsu
What it does: The Green Herring faces the screen and places pointed
hands together, then, using the powers of lurking, vanishes into
thin air!
Effect: ****
Speed: ***
Duration: ***
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
Now this is fun. Similar to Mirage's Hiding, when this move is
completed, the Herring will become invisible, but unlike with Mirage's
move, even his shadow disappears, too! TGH's body will flicker briefly
every few seconds, though, mostly so you can tell where you are. Still,
it's very hard for the other runners to tell what you're going to do if
you're going off to battle them, but it's also hard to traverse
obstacles without the risk of screwing up and suffering damage and/or
losing place. Thus, it's better to use this in a place in the stage
where there's not much around to disturb your mad dash across the
racetrack. You cannot cancel this move and it lasts for six seconds.
--
Character strategy:
A small character, the Green Herring runs fast, but his ability to
do and take damage and jump are below-average. He does, however, have
the ability to completely change a character with the Redesign Blast,
become invisible with the Minamo-gakure no Jutsu, and become ultra-fast
with the Caffeine Overload. He also has a good combo ender with the
Tail Attack. It's probably best to just run, but mess somebody up with
the Redesign Blast every once in a while and use the Caffeine Overload
when you're close to the end.

Introduction dialogue:
*TGH stands facing the screen without his magnetic clip-on lens*
TGH: Oh, hello... You're the popular runner around here, right?
TGH: People were talking about your superior running skills, but it sure
doesn't look like you have any to me.
TGH: But hey, you can't judge a book by its cover, so maybe if we raced
together, I'll find out for sure.
*TGH puts on his magnetic clip-on lens now*
TGH: What do you say?
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept his challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*TGH gives a thumbs up to the viewer*
TGH: All righty, then...
TGH: Let's get the show on the road, shall we?
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
*TGH looks a little surprised...*
TGH: Oh?No challenge?
*TGH takes off his magnetic clip-on lens*
TGH: Well, back to work on my stuff, then.Man, I've been rather lazy
lately!
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*TGH has BIG eyes here. You can tell he's very surprised.*
TGH: ...Woah!I can't believe I underestimated you!
TGH: I thought you were going to give up and run away like I did in CoG.
You kept up the pressure, though, and you got it done.I'm
impressed!
*TGH, with a normal face, holds up a medal that's shaped like his head.*
TGH: This is my present to you!A medal to signify that you defeated
me.That way, everybody will know who defeated the greenest
herring of them all.
*TGH stands facing the screen again.*
TGH: Well, back to my own things...I want to get my damn IAQ done!
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*TGH with a shocked look on his face facing the screen*
TGH: ...Holy crap.I don't freakin' believe this.
TGH: I just can't believe how lame you are at what you do!
*TGH with a stern look on his face facing the screen*
TGH: Everybody hyped over how much running ability you had for so long,
and after this race, I now know you really don't have any.
TGH: Y'know what this reminds me of?Daikatana!Seven years of
development and hyping... and it still sucked.
TGH: Well, then, I'll go back to my workspace now.I'm not angry at
you, really, but for Christ's sake, please, PLEASE learn how to
run!
*goes to point calculation screen*
