for more info.
Backstory: The son of a famous mercenary, Ralph has a lot to live up
to. Hilltop High is known for its illegal street racing rings, and
it's something Ralph is poor at. Frustrated, he became the wrestling
team captain of his school to take it out on the others. After
discovering the shadier side of track and field, Ralph's decided to
try racing of a different form, using his expertise in grappling and
throws in place of actual racing skill to win. Hilltop High wasn't
about to dissuade him, as they could've used more runners anyway.

Special moves:
NOTE: All of Ralph's special moves are done by grabbing the opponent
first with L1+Square (throw) first. These are all follow-ups to his
grab.

Special move #1
Move name: Hell to Heaven to Hell Again
What it does: Ralph tosses the opponent up into the air, catches
them, then slams them on the ground behind him.
Damage: *****
Speed: *
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
The basic damage followup if you just want to hurt someone. Well,
it does grievious damage, that much I can tell you. Of course, Ralph
takes his sweet time tossing the opponent up into the air only to
get slammed again, so chances are if he was in the lead when he did
this, he's going to lose it. However, the poor sap caught in this
will really feel the effects of it for a long time to come.

Special move #2
Move name: Southern Tumbleweed
What it does: Ralph stars rolling along the ground with the opponent
in tow. At the end, Ralph throws the enemy behind him, and they get
right back on their feet immediately.
Damage: *
Speed: ****
Range: Long (***)
Notes/Strategy:
This is Ralph's main method of travel. While doing this, he moves
considerably faster than he usually would (four star speed to be
exact), and those caught in the way will be knocked down for a small
amount of damage regardless if they hit him with an attack as he
approaches or not (though it's blockable). You can steer to the
sides and jump, but you can only roll forward with this attack. The
enemy will automatically recover when Ralph throws them out, so be
wary of doing this against a speedier character; they'll pass right
by him (or even worse, beat him up) when he's back in a controllable
state.

Special move #3
Move name: New-Age Javelin Man
What it does: Ralph swings his victim in a wide circle once, then
lets 'em fly forward.
Damage: ***
Speed: **
Range: Long (***)
Notes/Strategy:
Probably the single funniest move in the entire game, but also
one of the least practical except in co-op. The initial swing knocks
people around him down for decent damage, but the big thing to note
here is how far the enemy flies. The enemy flies further than ANY
other attack in the entire game, going well past a single screen in
length. During this, they automatically pass over objects that
require at least a two-star jump to go over and fly at between
two-and-three stars speed without stamina loss. The problem? They
can't "steer," and they'll stop the moment they hit something, be it
an enemy or a wall. In both cases, they'll take decent damage (same
goes for whoever they hit if they do). This includes taking small
damage for each person they hit at the startup swing, too. If they
don't hit anything during their flight, they'll just hit the ground
peacefully as if they were knocked down. Ralph himself takes a
moment to wind down and get back into a running state. Once again,
this is really silly to perform against an enemy unless they're
lined up against a wall, but great if you have a slow friend that
needs a longer boost than what the roll would give them. The flying
opponent is unblockable, but you can guard against the initial
swing.

Special move #4
Move name: Scent of Blood
What it does: Ralph just takes a sniff of his opponent's fear and
he feels... refreshed.
Damage: **
Speed: *****
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy:
More like a typical throw. It does a little more damage than a
normal throw would, but this recharges Ralph's stamina somewhat and
it recovers very quickly. It puts the opponent just behind Ralph,
but both will recover at the same time. If Ralph immediately runs
away, the enemy can't counter-grab him. This is also the throw to
use if you don't feel any other throw would be appropriate, or if
you just need to drop the opponent to get back into the race
quickly.

Character strategy: At first glance, Ralph is an average character
with below-average movement stats. This is true. However, when you
start throwing the opponent, this is when he begins to shine. Ralph
is very versatile in terms of moves, but all of them require he
grabs the opponent first. Because of this, you'll want to try and
tailgate an opponent at all times, and try to keep them near you the
entire round. You often run the risk of allowing your victim to pass
you first when he's done, but this is *very* helpful in co-op
matches. Ralph can use his Southern Tumbleweed to carry slower
characters along at a respectable pace without dealing much damage
to his buddy, or he can outright toss them ahead with the New-Age
Javelin Man. This is usually very stupid to do against an enemy, but
when playing co-op you can't really think of a better way to team
up. As a racer by himself he's pretty ho-hum with a fun twist on his
throws, but as a partner he's one of the best to help you get in the
lead.

Introduction dialogue:
*Ralph's seen putting the wrestling moves on a random fellow student.
Ouch. Ralph then notices you and motions for you to come closer.*
Ralph: I've been waitin'! All these people, thinking they're all that
because they can run real fast... I'll show 'em all. Starting with
you! Or are you gonna run away like everyone else has tried to, huh?
Go on. Either way I'm gonna get you!
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept his challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*Ralph cracks his knuckles and pounds them together to make a loud
cracking noise.*
Ralph: Just what I wanted to hear. People like to say, "eat my
dust..." but in your case, you're gonna be eating dirt!
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
Ralph: ...Fine, I'll spare you today. You don't look like you'll be
worth the sweat.
*Ralph walks away, punching a locker on the way out. He leaves quite
a dent in it.*
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*Ralph recoils, holding his hands up to defend himself after being
thuroughly owned.*
Ralph: Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Alright alright already, I'm not gonna mess
with you any more. Water under the bridge, right? Right? ...Right?
*Ralph ducks his head down and covers it with his arms*
Ralph: Say something... I dunno if you're about to kill me or not!
...You're not? Whew!
*Ralph stands, waves half-heartedly, and runs off without saying
anything else.*
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*All you get is a nice overhead view of Ralph looking down at you.
Seems like he beat the crap out of you for not making it to the finish
line first. He just walks away after a short amount of time, without a
word being said.*
*goes to point calculation screen*
