Backstory: Joseph is an all-scholar in City High, getting all the high
grades in every subject. However, he never bothered to participate in
any sports - and that's the problem, one must participate in at least one
interscholastic sport before graduating in City High. Joseph protested
to this idea - thinking that sports is a barabic thing for uber-muscular
men who all look like bodybuilders. Thus, he stayed in the school for 15
years and took almost every subject the school provides. He wants to
graduate without participating any sports, the school didn't let him and
just let him stay there with his scholarship (which is still running).
However City High lost its patience on this 30 year old high school
student, and demanded that he participate in a sport this coming year,
or else he'll be considered as a flunk. Without any choices, Joseph
decided to look for a sport that requires the least amount of exercise -
and the only sport with open spaces is unfortunately, the marathon team.
Being the weakest (physically) person in the team, Joseph must try to at
least survive this...hell of a mess.

Special moves:

Special move #1
Move name: Urban Bombing Run
What it does: Joseph decides to show off his knowledge of bombs and
firepower by tossing 5 bombs at random directions. A bomb will explode on
contact, and if nobody touches the bomb they will last for 3 seconds
before blowing up. The explosion is pretty huge as well.
Damage: ****
Speed: **
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy: Probably the best move he has, but it's quite random and
it might not hit anybody. In fact, the explosion may backfire and blow
himself up. Mainly used for defensive purpose since this move is on the
slow side, just to protect Joseph from getting hit by other runners.

Special move #2
Move name: Ballistic Expertise
What it does: Joseph takes out a ROCKET LAUNCHER from nowhere, and shoots
a rocket forward. However, the effects backfire and he's pushed back by
about half a screen and the rocket goes in a upforward direction instead
of going the direction he's facing.
Damage: ****
Speed: **
Range: Long (***)
Notes/Strategy: A fancy move where the rocket does splash damage when it
lands. However, it's not recommended that you do this move when you are
behind, since he rockets backward by almost half screen and the rocket
flys to some unknown location up ahead. You can try using this move when
he's ahead, but really, what's the chances of that?

Special move #3
Move name: History Lecture
What it does: Joseph bores anybody around him to unconsciousness by
talking about the 100 years war/WW1/WW2/Civil War/Prehistoric
era/Dinosaurs etc (actually I made that up, but he still bores people to
being unconscious).
Effect: ***
Speed: ****
Duration: ***
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy: You might think "Hey it's a cool move!" but the range is
quite short, so it makes the move pretty useless. Try using this when
somebody's trying to attack Joseph though, he somehow has invincibility
in the starting frames, which is good. Do not use this when you're by
yourself.

Special move #4
Move name: Rocket Propulsion
What it does: Joseph gains major speed by using his rocket backpack for
as long as you hold the button. Fuel can run out though, and the rocket
will last for about 15 seconds. After that, he dumps the backpack.
Effect: *****
Speed: *****
Duration: N/A
Range: N/A
Notes/Strategy: The other useful move, Joseph can use this speed boost
to catch up on other people. However, this thing has its flaws, first,
Joseph cannot make any turns other than going backward, he can't go up
using this move (he must get up by the stairs/ladders). Joseph will get
knocked down if he hits anybody in front of him as well. Aside from that,
a nice move that you should abuse in open areas.

--
Character strategy: Joseph is the artillery man of City High, but with
really, really bad aim. The Urban Bombing Run is decent but he throws at
random directions, Ballistic Expertise actually hurts him more than
others, History Lecture has no range, and Rocket Propulsion isn't all
that useful. However, if you manage to utilize his strengths he can be
quite effective. He also has a really, really floaty jump that can go
high and far. Aside from that, his stamina sucks hard, his defense sucks,
his attack sucks and his speed sucks. For people who want a challenge,
choose him.

Introduction dialogue:
*Joseph Yanno is seen fixing his rocket backpack thingy*
Joseph: So you're that marathon guy everyone's hyping about.
Joseph: As you can see, I'm only a scholar. I'd refuse to race you, even
if you challenge me.
*Joseph stands up and faces you*
Joseph: But this time it's different. I'm going to try out this rocket
backpack. Care to be my lab mouse?
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept his challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*Joseph wears the rocket backpack*
Joseph: Well, well. I'll see you at the finish line then.
Joseph: I'm ready. Let's start this experiment.
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
*Joseph goes back to fixing his rocket backpack thingy*
Joseph: Well? I don't have anything to say to you.
Joseph: Come back again when you want to do the experiment.
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*Joseph lies down on the ground*
Joseph: Whew...gasp...that was exhausting!
Joseph: Well at least the experiment was successful. Thanks.
Joseph: I'll just stay here for about 5 hours and hope the wind doesn't
blow me away. See you later.
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*Joseph lies down on the ground*
Joseph: Whew...gasp...that was exhausting!
Joseph: But the experiment seems successful. I still need to fix up a few
things though.
Joseph: Come back when you're ready for the experiment again.
