boxing team. Coming from a long line of boxers, he's pretty much
immersed in his country's culture, and he sure likes boxing, dreaming
of going to the United States to compete with the best. Fit and quick
on his feet, nobody in his boxing class was a match for him even at his
early stages, and it was no surprise that he actually got accepted to
be on the school's track and field team. As a runner, he'll do his best
to help his school advance to the finals. Rumor has it that he's dating
another member of the school's team...

Special moves:

Special move #1
Move name: Orochi Rush
What it does: Joji advances forward with a VERY short hop off the ground.
If he hits, he attacks the foe with a combination of punches consisting
of four lightning-fast body blows, two fast hook punches (but not as fast
as the first four,) and a hook punch followed by an uppercut, sending the
enemy away.
Damage: ***
Speed: ***
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy: Coming out quickly and going half-screen, this move is
good in combos, and is also a way to advance even further across the
stage than if you're already running, although there's a bit of recovery
in the end. This will NOT hit anybody in the air, though, so be aware of
jumping characters.

Special move #2
Move name: Izanagi Spear
What it does: Joji rears one arm back for a second before sliding forward
with a big straight punch going a very far distance.
Damage: ****
Speed: *
Range: Long (***)
Notes/Strategy: This massive punch goes quite far and goes quite fast.
It's also VERY damaging and will pretty much smash anybody who's hit by
it. So why the one-star Speed rating if the move supposedly goes fast?
Well, that can be attributed to the fact that it takes two seconds for
him to wind up and recover from this move, and what that means is that
if you try to abuse this, people will always smack you out of it, and if
they don't, you will be in last place in no time. Only use it when
you're DAMN sure it's going to hit. Oh yes, it doesn't hit mid-air
opponents, either.
--
Character strategy: Joji is average as far as strength, defense, and
stamina goes, but he's quite a fast guy. He can go quite fast and can
easily combo his Orochi Rush off his normal combo, although it takes
somewhat longer to complete than most. His Izanagi Spear is pretty
useless since it's so slow to come out and recover, thus causing you to
get in last place in short time, and his jumping ability leaves a lot to
be desired, meaning he's not recommended for stages where you have to
leap over a whole bunch of things. This also means he must find other
ways around a few things. In the end, you should just keep on running
when using him.

Introduction dialogue:
*Joji is shadow-boxing at the background for some time. A few seconds
later, he turns with a spinning punch, but stops short when he sees
you.*
JOJI: Huh?!...
*He then simply stands tall.*
JOJI: Oh, you're the one who's well-known around here for his runnin'
skills? My bad... I was just practicin' my boxin'.
*Joji holds his arm out, as if he were to signal to "come here."*
JOJI: How about a round of runnin'? I'd like to see if all the stuff
about you is true.
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept his challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*Joji cracks his knuckles...*
JOJI: Well, then, let's do this!
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
*Joji raises an eyebrow.*
JOJI: Huh? No dice?
*Joji turns away.*
JOJI: Okay, I guess I'll leave you alone, then. Better practice my
boxin' more.
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*Hot and sweaty, Joji, with his right hand on the back of his head,
looks toward you.*
JOJI: Oi... I feel sweaty, tired, and hurt. I never thought I'd
actually break a sweat runnin' against anybody. Looks like all the
rumors about you are true.
*Joji gives a thumbs up at you with his other hand.*
JOJI: Well, here's to you, buddy. May the Risin' Sun always shine
over you.
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*Joji has his hands on his hips again.*
JOJI: Was I too much for you? No offense, but it seems like you
were overhyped... You didn't provide much of a challenge for me.
*Joji turns away.*
JOJI: Back to my boxin' practice, I guess. Come back when you get
better.
*goes to point calculation screen*
