nickname. In fact, he sounds a little too old to be in high school. When
confronted with questions on his identity, he used a lobster to cover his
escape. He's a member of the track team, but nobody knows if he actually
takes any classes at Metro High. Who lies behind that dopey Groucho Marx
mask, and what's with the endless amount of lensflares when he's around?

Special moves:

Special move #1
Move name: D.R. XII Slip
What it does: The mysteriously goofy racer suddenly fazes out of
existence, and reappears to either his left or right.
Effect: *
Speed: *****
Duration: *
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy: Need to quickly avoid an attack or make a last-second
dodge out of the way of a collision? This is it. With this, D.R. XII moves
side-to-side faster than anybdoy else does. Note that pressing the button
itself does nothing; you have to press the pad/stick to either side in
order to activate this. This is rated "Medium" in range since it takes
D.R. XII well past one character length to his left or right, so keep that
in mind. This can be used in combos, though whether there would be a
point to it or not is anyone's guess. One last thing, you can do this
while jumping. This is one of the select few special moves that are
usable while jumping at that.

Special move #2
Move name: Dramatic Road to Victory
What it does: A lensflare shines across the screen as D.R. XII picks up
the pace and runs forward at a lightning pace for quite a distance.
Effect: *
Speed: ****
Duration: ***
Range: Long (***)
Notes/Strategy: This could be a cheap way to use a slightly enhanced
sprint, but there are a few caveats. Namely, D.R. XII can't jump or move
from side to side to dodge anything for the entire duration. This means
he can run into his fair share of traps and trouble if you get too
careless with this; D.R. XII is fragile and damage from running into
things you shouldn't will add up over time. Otherwise, it's a great way to
help close the gap if he's falling behind, or to widen it if he's in the
lead. There's a small amount of startup and recovery delay, and the
distance he does this for can be more problematic for him than it is
advantageous.

--
Character strategy: D.R. XII has no special attacks. He's a pure speed
character, but oddly enough he's not the fastest. Fast, but not the
fastest. He's supposed to simply keep dodging potential danger with his
"warp" moves in order to maintain his speed, and to use his turbo boost
whenever he has a clear shot without running into anything nasty. He's
capable of maintaining his speed for a good long while, but as a fighter
his normal attacks are somewhat weak and he takes damage very poorly;
thus, simply focus on running. His good jump helps him out considerably
there too. Simply put, run like hell with D.R. XII and everything will be
okay. Maybe.

white from overuse.*
D.R. XII: Oops. Er, ah, you get the point. Come back later? I'll have my
1337 victory dance all figured out by then.
*goes to point calculation screen*
