Backstory: Aki was a normal (albeit very superstitious) athletic student
until a bad fall left her with an upside-down cross-shaped scar on her
right shin. She felt it was an anarchic omen for her life, and soon her
behavior changed for the worse. She became moody and erratic in her
behavior, surrounding herself with magic of all sorts and becoming
aggressive towards other students - a result of a belief she was now
ordained by unseen powers to "weed out those with weak spirit energies".
Because of this, she was transferred over to Prison High. She quickly
established herself as a feared loner whom everyone left alone, and those
who didn't immediately learned not to mess with her again. She sees track
and field as an opportunity to continue her mission of tormenting those
who (she feels) have weak spirit.

Special moves:

Special move #1
Move name: Malevolent Spirit
What it does: Aki takes off one of her amulets and throws it. It flies
over and attaches itself to a runner's body. They've now been cursed!
Damage: ***
Speed: ***
Range: Medium (**)
Notes/Strategy: This little projectile move not only slows the opponent
down, but it will slowly deplete their life AND stamina as long as it is
active. It doesn't last very long, but it's enough to give you a good
distance between you and your victim. It will aim itself at the nearest
opponent and it's unblockable, but it can be avoided by jumping over.

Special move #2
Move name: Leap of Faith
What it does: If near an opponent, Aki grabs them, flips herself over
their head and pushes off, knocking them to the ground and boosting her
forward. If near a large object, she'll grab on and flip herself up and
onto the top of it.
Damage: ***
Speed: ****
Range: Short (*)
Notes/Strategy: Need a quick boost of speed or a way to get up and over an
obstacle Aki can't normally jump over? Then use this! Note that Aki can
only use this on objects that require a three-star jumping stat or lower
to clear. You can't use this twice in a row on an object, but you can
chain it from a flip off an opponent into a flip up and onto an obstacle
if it is nearby.
--
Character strategy: Aki's a feisty little scrapper with good all-around
stats, save her jumping ability. Her Leap of Faith special move makes up
for it, though, if the obstacle she's jumping or the area she's trying to
reach isn't too hard to get to/clear. Against speedy or hard-hitting
characters, use her Malevolent Spirit special move on them near the start
of the race to get ahead of the competition, then try it again if they
attempt to pass you later. She's not very good on stages with very high
obstacles to clear, even with her Leap of Faith she can only reach so far,
but otherwise she's a great choice to use in just about any situation!

--
Introduction dialogue:
*Aki is shown sitting in shadow on an overstuffed cushion surrounded by
magic talismans and candles. She is meditating with closed eyes and
holding a mandala between her hands*
Aki: You must be the runner I have been told of. Interesting.
Aki: I do not sense a strong spirit energy from you. Perhaps it is
because this area is not the proper channel for you?
*Aki looks up at the screen, shadows from the candles lighting her face
in an eerie way*
Aki: A race would certainly show your true abilities...
*A dialog box pops up asking you if you accept her challenge or not*

Yes, I accept your challenge:
*Aki smiles subtlely, her eyes glowing from the candlelight*
Aki: Excellent!
Aki: We shall see if you are truly worthy.
*start race*

No, I don't accept your challenge:
*Aki glares at the screen and sneers*
Aki: So you don't have any spirit then. I suspected as much!
Aki: Those with weak spirit energies do not deserve to be here. Begone!
*goes back to opponent selection screen*

You win the race:
*Aki kneels down onto one knee, sweating heavily and barely able to look
up at the screen*
Aki: Well done! It appears I was wrong about you!
Aki: You certainly have strong spirit. You are more than worthy to exist
in this world!
*goes to point calculation screen*
*screen shows you beat that stage*

You lose the race:
*Aki growls at the screen with clenched fists and flashing eyes*
Aki: Hah! Your spirit energy is much too weak! You deserved to be beaten.
Aki: You won't contaminate this world with your weakness any more!
*goes to point calculation screen*
