TAX STATEMENTS
Herb Bitting, tithes and offerings treasurer, will have year-end giving statements available to pick up in the entryway on two consecutive Sundays, Jan. 18 & 25. If you need your statement prior to those dates, please contact Herb at 276-6312. Any statements not picked up will be mailed.
YOUTH GROUP
All middle and high school youth can pick up Blizzard 2004 registration forms from Pastor Joseph. This winter retreat for COG youth in Oregon and S.W. Washington will be Feb. 6-8 in Antelope, OR.
NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
New Sunday schedule times: adult Sunday school and kid's breakfast club at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship service, 10:30-11:45 a.m.
Adult Sunday school classes:
Maggie Wurtz - study in Revelation
Teri Brickey - Experiencing God (women) Worksbooks for both classes are $15, but scholarships are available to cover that cost.
Jim Phelps - Experiencing God (men)
MID-WEEK MEALS
We are still taking sign-ups for our mid-week suppertime. Individuals or families can arrange to cook the meal and/or clean-up. See the clipboard on the table in the entryway. If you have any questions, contact Patsy Phelps, 276-4898.
WOMEN'S RETREAT
A Women's Retreat is planned for march 12-13-14 at Bannock Lodge at Meadowood Springs Speech & Hearing Camp. This location offers walking trails in a beautiful wooded setting just 11 miles from Weston, sleeps up to 17 and has a full kitchen. Due to space limitations, this will be open to the first 17 women. The cost per person will depend on how many attend. With 10 attendees, lodging would be $20.45 for the entire weekend; less if it fills up! RSVP Malina Lindell with your $10 deposit.
MOPS
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), a national "mothering matters"
group, has begun a Pendleton chapter at the First Assembly of God, 1911
SE Court Ave. Their first gathering will be Saturday, Jan. 17,
9-11:30 a.m. After that, they will meet the first Saturday
of each month. All moms and their preschoolers are welcome!
Donations will be accepted for the leader of the "moppets"
(childcare). The first guest speaker will talk about mothers
being the heart of the home.
VOLUNTEERS
As the new year begins we would like to take this time to thank everyone who volunteers week after week serving God by making sure our church building and property are taken care of well. During the week you will find people: cleaning & restoring the pew supplies, watering plants, folding & stuffing bulletins, bulletin boards, preparing for Sunday school classes AND mid-week programs, Wed. night dinner preparation, working on ! the new nursery, donating fresh ground coffee, taking care of the pop machine, processing new books to our library, planning the worship service & organizing the music, practicing the worship service, website preparation & availability, preparing communion, getting Sunday's coffee ready; during the summer: mowing the lawn, caring for outdoor flowers & shrubs. OUR VOLUNTEERING CHURCH FAMILY MEMBERS ARE THE BEST.SPECIAL WEATHER EVENTS
We've had an eventful Friday around the church right after New
Years. Marty Ward and Anita discovered about 1/2 of the entryway
carpet was soaking wet. Wayne Miller came down and found the
downspout from the entryway roof was frozen shut and as the snow melted
it puddled and soaked through into the building. Marty has spent
the majority of the morning using a little "green machine" spot carpet
cleaning machine to suck up excess moisture. We were both wet
from the knees down! After calling a plumber to thaw it out, a
"blade" to clear the parking lot and hubby Tom to shovel the walks, we
prepared for January 3rd's memorial service.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Teri Brickey had a bit of trouble getting back to Pendleton from Roseburg, and she has asked me to let you know that the ladies Sunday school class "Experiencing God" will NOT begin until the 11th. On the 4th, for those who would like to meet at 9:30 a.m. to pray, you may meet in the parlor. The coffee will be on! The kid's breakfast club will be open for those who have children.

BABY DEDICATION
