Love Loaves

Our love loaves were "harvested" the last Sunday of November, but you can still drop them off throughout the first week of December (until the 10th) at the church office. All proceeds go to world hunger relief through World Vision. There are still daily devotionals available in the basket in the entryway at church. Also a few empty loaves are left so get one -- they are great for putting on your washer or dresser for those extra coins in pockets throughout the year or to get a head start for next year.

You may purchase a poinsettia in memory or honor of a loved one to be placed in the sanctuary during Advent. Each week a listing will be provided of your loved one's name. Contact the church office to be sure yours is included. We encourage everyone to take their plant(s) home on December 26th.

But the angel said to them:  "Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

College/Military goody boxes were mailed last week to 18 students and 1 military personnel away from home. Thanks to Tina Myers for preparing each of the boxes for mailing.

Christmas Programs

Let your friends and relatives know that Sunday, December 19, there are two Christmas programs. The adults will present Christmas music during our morning worship service. The children's program will be at 6 p.m. with refreshments following inclucing a birthday cake for Jesus.

Adult Christmas Party

Our adult Christmas Party will be Sunday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the parlor. We will be playing BUNCO. If you have never played, don't worry - it takes about 30 seconds to learn. It is fun, lively and we invite all adults to attend. Everyone is invited to bring a finger food or their favorite dessert to share. Please RSVP to the church office if you can attend.

Food Baskets

We continue to take donations for Christmas food baskets for those in need in our congregation. Items can include non -perishable items that you would like to see on your holiday table. SEe the bulletin board for ideas. For many years now, these baskets have made the difference between a bleak Christmas day to one of love and caring for members of our church family. Thank you for helping.

Watch Night Party

A "Watch Night Party" will be held at the church on Friday December 31, beginning at 8 p.m. The parlor will be set up with tables for board games, jigsaw puzzles, etc. Everyone is invited to bring finger foods and beverages to share. Our children are invited to bring their games, movies etc to play in the adult classroom across from the parlor. At midnight, we will pause for prayer together, ushering in 2005.

Cancellations

On Sunday December 26th, there will be no adult Sunday school classes or children's Breakfast Club. Children will be dismissed during the service for their Sunday School as usual.

Our mid-week meal and all programs will be canceled on Wednesday, Dec. 29th due to Christmas vacation.

Be sure to check your Sunday bulletin for all December activities, prayer needs, meeting dates and times, Sunday and Wednesday helper schedules, financial information and more. Thanks to Anita Lewis for all the information she keeps us current with.
