Yard sales are scheduled for Saturday May 8. If you would like to reserve a table for your own sale, contact Anita. They will be held in the lower yard area. We will do the advertising, guarantee you one table and you supply your sale items, change, and any extra tables you need, etc.
Parents, friends and family of high school grads! The Grad Night festivities are planned for Sunday, May 16 at 6 p.m. Be sure to put that on your already busy "grad" schedule. Our grads are Kory Waterlund, Christy Negus, Chase Berry, Scott Schuening and Cameron Pahl. Everyone is invited to attend and join in this very significant time in their lives.
Our Wednesday night kids learned about putting on the "full armor of God". The artwork you see in the entryway has been done by our children. We hope you can take a minute of your time when you are at the church to enjoy and admire their work and appreciate their efforts. They learned about the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the sheild of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit.
A ladies prayer group is now meeting on the last Sunday of each month. Their next meeting will be May 30th in the parlor. Marcella Hamilton is leading.
Mother's Day will be observed on Sunday, May 9 during our morning worship service by honoring all women. We hope you can bring a special woman in your life to church on that day. Gifts will be presented to each of them!
Raffle tickets for the beautiful quilt and pillow in the church entryway are available after church each Sunday. Tickets are $2.00 each or 5 for $7.00. Proceeds go toward our Vacation Bible School program. The drawing will be May 6 at the Ladies Tea.
A "Ladies" Tea is scheduled for Thursday May 6 at 7 p.m. in the parlor. This is a time of fellowship for ladies of all ages and sizes - mature ladies, young ladies and little ladies. Refreshments will be served and a brief time of entertainment.
NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
The board of Christian Education announces the beginning of THREE new studies in adult Sunday School:
- Allen Waggoner is leading the men in a study focusing on rediscovering a man's heart, the secret of his soul. It will culminate in a "Wild at Heart" retreat. Classes started in April. Allen encourages all men to come and check it out. It's not too late!
- Teri Brickey is leading the women in a Beth Moore study, "Believing God", which also started in April. Workbooks are still available for $15.00 each. This class includes a one-hour video on Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. that started the last Sunday in April. It's not too late to begin this one either.
- Russ Warner will be teaching a New Testament study that began that last Sunday in April. This adult class welcomes everyone who would like to take a close look at the people and events that surrounded the astounding times of the New Testament.
VOLUNTEER FOR MID-WEEK MEALS
We are taking sign-ups for our mid-week suppertime. People may sign up for preparing the meal or clean-up so those who prepared the meal can go directly up to Bible study. Money taken in the week before is what is used to buy food supplies. If you have any questions, contact Patsy Phelps.Enjoy dinner each Wednesday evening for only $1.00. You can't find a better meal anywhere and you certainly can't beat that price!
Plans are being made for this year's Vacation Bible School, June 21-25. If you would like to be a part of those preparations, contact Teri Brickey, 966-6962. High school age students and adults are needed in a variety of areas: snacks, crafts, crew leaders, music, decorations, clean-up, games and more! Student helpers earn a formal letter of appreciation that may be added to their resumes for job applications and future scholarship and college applications.
Congratulations to Kori Schofield and her daughter, Hannah Schofield and Kaleigh Waggoner and Brad Stevens on making the decision to follow Jesus' example in baptism on Sunday May 2nd.
Easter Sunday was the "grand opening" of our new infant nursery, located just off the entryway. Many have participated in the remodeling of this room. Your hard working efforts have provided a bigger, more convenient and accessible room for parents to bring their infants and toddlesr, up to 3 years old. We are needing donations of: - cash
- Two step stools
- Garbage Can
- Changing Pad
- Small table and chairs
- Wall book rack
- Christian "board" books

Middle School youth is moving to Wednesday night at 7 p.m. starting the first Sunday in May. All 6, 7 and 8th grade students are now joining the high school students in the youth room with Pastor Joseph. If you have any questions, contact Pastor Joseph.
"A Little Bit of Italy" is the Monday May 10 theme of Pendleton After 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Vert Clubroom, S.W. 4th Street. Phyllis Mayberry will show Italian charm bracelets and Marleen Yundt, an executive secretary and international traveler from Beaverton, will be the guest speaker. Lasagna, salad and bread will be served. All o fthis for only $9.00. RSVP by May 3rd to Kathleen O'Hara or Anita Lewis. ALLladies are welcome!!!
A "PRAYER CONNECTION" sponsored by Pendleton After 5, will be held Thursday, May 6 at 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at DiAnna Miller's home, 1970 SW Quinney PL. This time of prayer is open to all ladies who would like to connect wtih others in a time of united prayer. Call DiAnna at 276-9020, for directions or if you have questions. All ladies are welcome!
