Beginning Sunday, June 1st, new worship times will begin. Sunday School for adults (and the kid's breakfast club) will begin at 9:00 a.m. and morning worship will begin at 10:00 a.m. Children and students 3 years old through 12th grade will continue to be dismissed during the morning worship service.
Volunteers are needed for this year's VBS (Vaction Bible School) program, "Scuba Adventure", beginning July 7-11.. To volunteer to help with snacks, crafts, story telling, small group leaders and games, contact Teri Brickey, 966-6962 or call Anita in the church office, 276-1894.
On Sunday, June 15 our morning worship service will include a concert wtih the Parker Sisters. No Sunday school classes will be dismissed; activity "bags" will be available to children as they enter.
Elaine Entermille, our librarian, continues to work weekly in keeping the library in order and ready to serve the congregation. There are many, many books of all types on the shelves in the library (upstairs adult classroom/music room) and we invite everyone to stop in and take a look at our great selection, including children's books.

Our Wednesday night programs will feature something new this summer. we will get together and share a meal. Each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. food will be served for everyone. The first one, June 4th, will be a POTLUCK. Bring a main dish and either a salad or dessert. Other meals planned include sphagetti, hamburgers and Chicken and will be provided with a donation of $1.00 per person.

Message from AnitaI just wanted to report on the first mid-week potluck last Wednesday. About 40 people were here to enjoy some really great dishes. There was enough food, the company was great and the kids really seemed to enjoy everything, also. Teri Brickey had an awesome program planned for the kids at 7 p.m. (They learned about trusting God and made some "trust" cookies.) Curtis Moore began the study "Becoming a Courageous Chrisitian" with 18 people attending. It looked like the high school youth had about 10-15 kids, so the church was bursting with activity. I hope if you are reading this and did not attend, that you consider coming by this Wed. at 6 p.m. (June 11th) for malibu chicken, seasoned mashed potatoes, veggie, rolls, and dessert. It only costs $1 per person! And stay for Bible study--there is something for everyone! |
The last Sunday of each month in June, July and August, a potluck dinner will be held at various locations. Watch for more details.
A new ladies book club will be reading "Eve's Daughter" by Lynn Austin. Get a copy, read it and a discussion time will be Thursday, June 26 at 6 p.m. Bring food to share!

Flag day is June 14th   National flags are not merely symbols of a country. Their colors and designs convey past history and future goals. Teens, watch the Sunday bulletin and keep in contact with Pastor Joseph regarding activities for summer. I know lots of special events are in store for you this summer. There are two water skiing days planned: June 22 and July 6. At this time they need boats and drivers. If you can provide either of those, contact Pastor Joseph or Billie Parker. 
On Sunday, June 8 some age groups will be promoted into new classes -- this includes sunday school and mid-week programs (based on the fall's age/class)
- 3 hr olds - K into preschool classes
- 1-2 graders
- 3 - 4 - 5 graderse
- 6-12 grades for Sunday School
- 6-8 grades on Sundays at 6 p.m.
- 9-12 grades on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
Summer Camp dates: Based on what grade your student will be in next fall Primary (3-4 grade) - July 7-10Parent - Child (2nd grade)-- July 11-13 Junior High (7-8 grade) -- July 14-18 Junior (5-6 grade) -- July 21-25 High School - (9-12 grade) -- July 28 - Aug. 1; cost is $145 & includes rafting.

Mail your reservation form on or after June 1st. Information is in the entryway at church. If you have any preferences (RV or camp sites, cabin, rooms etc) sign up early. Things fill up fast! It is August 3-9 at Bethel Park in Brooks, Oregon, just north of Salem off I-5. If you would like more information on what Campmeeting is all about, contact Pastor Rick or Debbie. This year's theme is "If Not Now.. When?" See the brochure for more details on this year's leaders, children's programs, youth stuff and more. All items found around the church will be gathered and placed in a box in the entryway. If you've lost anything, check it out! All items left will be sold at the next yard sale in August. We have too many orphan dishes -- they are taking over the kitchen ! They will be displayed on a table in the parlor (the fireplace room) for the month of June -- waiting for you to claim! Due to the volume of dishes, bowls, etc. we just can't store them any longer. Please make a point to take a look and see if any of these could be yours. Thanks!

Marie Blocksom -Continue to pray for Darlene Marquardt's Mother. Marie, who lives in West Salem. The dysphasia is improving and her communication skills are much better. She has other health concerns also. She is currently still living in her own apartment and has someone coming in each day to check on her. Continue to pray as she learns to deal with this new situation in her life. Also pray for Darlene as she is not able to visit her Mom as often as she would like due to job and distance and is having to deal with this from a distance.
Melissa & Larry Monkus -- for strength to deal with the death of their son, Brian on Easter Sunday.
Anonymous -- For a person to be calmed and that they will no longer be bothered by anxiety and panic.
Marty & Mandi Campbell -- For their daughter, Parker, as she begins medications to control seizures.
Donica Maring-Pray for her as she is loosing her job at the end of May. She is currently still a full time student and needs to keep working to pay expenses.
