Back to Tori and Van

Tori and Van were best friends and knew everything about one another. Co-workers and her friend Karen told her to go for it - he was her soul mate.
Tori knew the day she bought her car her life was changing forever. When she drove to the new Taco Bell, she got a feeling her life was really changing. She knew in her gut she was meeting her soulmate. Even though she enjoyed the sex with the dude she hit it with, she didn't like other aspects of his personality and wouldn't consider marriage - especially not with a Republican business major.
Van was the first guy she dated not in school. He had a good work ethic and attitude. She knew that'd get him far in life.
Tori dated another guy from that store first - they went to Beavis and Butthead Do America as only friends and decided to date over Christmas break. They were allowed to date other people, and a couple of months later, they ended things altogether. Van had told this dude he really like Tori. Homeboy laughed and said, "Good luck! She's with me!" Right before they called it quits, Tori said she and Van were planning to go out to bars together, just as friends. Tori had NO idea Van liked her in that way, but she was so happy he did.
They got together, talked about marriage and having kids three weeks later. They decided to have him move in with her after she graduated college. They spent the night at each other's places enough already, they figured they'd might as well so he could save rent money. He also didn't have enough money for a car the first year they were together. They usually worked at the same place, so it wasn't a big deal. They worked different shifts at times, so he'd take the bus or she'd give him a ride. They assumed she'd end up out-earning him, too.
