| WHAT KINGS -Bonita M Quesinberry On this earth what kings have we to look upon? Why, the drug lords, mighty and strong! And the porno prince of book, movie and song. Why, even the pimp of women gone wrong! Oh, no! you adamantly say, yet pass laws to protect them every day. Such illusory laws meant to make the victim pay. You fools! Your kings have rusted wisdom and feet of clay! You seek the king set upon a coin, and in his wrongs you glady join, eagerly satisfying the loin and, blindly, God's temple you purloin. Oh, Mighty One, King of Kings above, send down wisdom on the wings of a pure white dove. Strip away that illusory glove and fill their hearts with purest love! ____________________________ Published 1991: National Library of Poetry, Volume II Pseudonyms: Elizabeth Corvin Lindsey Quesinberry |
