Life can be a gift or even seemingly a curse,
just as water can drown
or relieve dying thirst.
It can fill your eyes with the beauty of trees,
mountains and seas,
Or it can be seen as dark clouds,
driving winds and dead leaves.
Life can fill your heart with the song of birds
and the joy of laughter,
or your heart can be torn by vultures
and filled with misery and pain thereafter.
Yes, life even can enshroud with kindness
and loving overflowing,
or abuse the child, wound its heart
and stunt its growing.
Ah, life~~ its mysteries and challenges,
loves and losses, its pain and gains,
each one an inevitable choice
to tame its mountains or
alone roam its plains.
Yes, life is a gift that is given
of God's love together with choice,
the choice to lament its pains
or revel in its beauty and rejoice.
