PENINSULAR MALAYSIA MISSION OF
THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS
Peninsular Malaysia Mission (PEM) is one of the three missions in Malaysia. Two of the thirteen states, Sabah and Sarawak constitute the other two missions in this country namely Sabah Adventist Mission (SAB)and Sarawak Adventist Mission (SAK). The territory of Peninsula Malaysia is connected to Thailand at the North and stretch out to Singapore at the South. The area of Peninsular Malaysia is 131,355 km2 and it is populated by roughly 17,800,00 people (in 2003).

The Adventist work here began as early as 1914. It was formally known as West Malaysia -Singapore Mission until Singapore bifurcated and formed Singapore Mission (SAM) in 1988. It was then reorganized and known as Peninsular Malaysia Mission (PEM).

The gospel work in Peninsular Malaysia Mission is growing very slowly. There are about 26 Churches, 8 companies and 15 groups in this mission. Due to the fact that Malaysia is a multiracial country, churches here are organized according to their own ethnic groups. Major languages used in the churches here are English, Chinese, Tamil and Malay Language. Membership of this Mission stays somewhere around 4,200 persons.

PEM is having a mission to erect memorials for the Lord in all the major towns throughout Peninsular Malaysia, at the same time, having a vision to prepare people in every state to meet the returning Savior. Currently, Adventists present is found in all the states except Perlis, the furthest state at the North. Strategies had been planned to further enhance the gospel ministry here in Peninsular Malaysia Mission so that the missions and visions can be fulfilled as soon as possible.
