| 1. Pembroke: Pembroke Isle is not in RhyDin. This is an important item to mention. Pembroke Isle is not in RhyDin, nor is it a part of it. It is its own existing place that stands at the heart of the shipping lanes of all other lands. This is what makes Pembroke important as it is a stopping point for ships into Coral Cove. Some seek refuge. Others begin new lives. 2. Open Storyline: Can I join? Most are encouraged to join. But this is not a community for everyone. Though this is an open storyline, those that do not fit within it will be ignored. Please respect that if your character is a Faerie or Elf, they might find themselves at the rude end of a dagger IC (In Character). All who have a character that would fit into this era (Medieval) and are willing to play within it, are more than welcome to visit or live on Pembroke Isle. Realism is the key. Pembroke Isle IS NOT a guild. It is a Community. It is not created to be a guild, nor ever will be. This leaves it open to anyone who wishes to join in on playing to do so, as long as the common sense rules are followed. It is asked that you apply to the Pembroke Community, as the attempt to screen out some. It's simple, it's easy and most all are welcome. 3. Citizens: If you wish to be a citizen of Pembroke Isle then that's great! Though this is not a guild, all I ask is that you put in your profile that you are from Pembroke and what village, city, hamlet, etc. Most of Pembroke is not populated and homesteading a property for your own is very realistic. Merely be able to defend if someone else has the wish to have the same property. To have your character listed on this site as a citizen, write me with a paragraph description of your character. If you have a site (or will) send me the link as well and I will at them to the People Of Pembroke page. 4. Chatroom Behavior/Rules: -It is asked that all who play respect the setting/era. -OOC (Out of Character) comments should be kept to IMs (Instant Messages) so not to interupt the flow of play. -No 'moding'. 'God-moding' and calling another person's actions are highly frowned upon. -Co-operative Role Play. -If you find yourself prone to sending a noveletta into the room each time you send a 'response', I'm afraid you are in the wrong area for that. This is role-playing, not book writing. There is a posting board for writing. Please feel free to utilize it. Message Boards. -Bleeding upset/attitude from OOC into IC play is not tolleraed. Please keep these very serperate. -The public room is PG-13 in status. Please remember this. If your interaction seems beyong this, be it a gorey fight, love-making, or language exchanged please take it to a PR (Private Room). 5. Storyline Enactments Can I play in PR with the same setting provided, etc. ? Yes! :) Feel free to. At times, I have The Barnacle Inn open or Pembroke Isle as pubic rooms. But there will be times when you want to do a scene for your character at their home, traveling, the woods, mount, etc. By all means, take it public or PR in those settings if you wish. I want my character to 'homestead' a piece of land, how do I do that ? Very easy. Send an email written OOC (Out Of Character) of how, what, why and where you are wanting to do this. If it is okayed in a return email, then that portion of land is distributed to that character for the SL (storyline). It will be listed under Pembroke Lands on the Index page so that other Players will know about it. What if I want to build/open a bakery, smithy, butcher shope, etc ? This falls under the same idea as wanting land. Merely write out the request OOC. I'll let you know if anyone has already taken that idea. The will be listed on the Pembroke Lands page. 6. Pembroke Government There is no true government on Pembroke Isle. What there is, is a Sovereign. Sire Pembroke is a ruler, much akin to a King. He administers and has those beneath him who enforce the laws. Return to Index page. ---------------------------- Copyright 2002, Pembroke Isle All Rights Reserved. Last Updated 11-17-2002 |
