Ruby's parents were -George Edgar Boyd & Maggie Eva Dickenson. Ruby married Morgan Honaker-Feb.26th, 1917. Ruby passed away on -Jun.12th, 1987. (Very sad losing her). Herr birth is recorded in Honaker genealogy, if not, I will place it here.

Ruby's mother -Eva, (she was called), was the daughter of James Palus Dickenson & Tabitha Mead. Tabitha was the daughter of Richard Mead & Elizabeth Higginbotham.

George Edgar Boyd was the son of -Elijah & Octavia Hunt Boyd. C.W. Boyd also was a son of Elijah & Octavia, there is a huge write up based on his ambitions. I'll have it here for the persons of interest. Meanwhile, the parents of Elijah are; Priscilla Robinson & Joseph Boyd. Priscilla was born Aug. 1830. Their children are:

The C.W. Boyd. . . Story Of His Life

The Late C.W. Boyd Of Tazewell County Was One Of Virginia's Great Philanthropists! Written for press Thursday, April 17, 1952. A great humanitarian, C.W. Boyd prominent retired lumber and coal operator of Tazewell, Va, who died at 70 on April 6 in a Richlands hospital, was widely known and started logging on John’s Creek. It was there that he throughout this section for his charitable work. One of the industrial pioneers of this section, Boyd was an outstanding figure in lumber and coal circles. He was equally well known for his philanthropisties. Boyd was born in Russell county Va. at .Swords Creek, the son of Elijah and Octavia Hunt Boyd. At the age of 12 he started his business career, when he went to work to support his widowed mother and family. His first work was a water boy and cart boy in helping to build the Norfolk and Western Railway on Clinch Valley Division. After this he went to kentucky and started logging on John's Creek. It was there that he began his career as a pioneer lumberman in the rafting logs down Big Sandy River. He rose from logger to Superintendant at Fugates Lumber Company. In 1917, Boyd organized the following lumber companies: White Oal, Putman, Va.; Clinch Valley, Scott county; Virginia Hardware, South Clinchfield and Bland; Boyd-Byburn. St.Paul; Kennedy Coal Co, Swords Creek; Pocahoncas, W.VA. And Tazewell County Co-operatative milk Associations, now the Imperial Ice cream Company of Tazewell. While activity engaged in these organizations, he devoted much of his time to charatible work. While with Clinch Valley Lumber Co, at Bastian, Va; he gave Camp Roland in band County, to the Boy scouts. At Fort Blackmore, Va., he established a milk mission for under-privileged children. While with White Oak Lumber Co., in Buchanan County, he gave the land for the orginal non-denomin Triangle Mountain Institute. He served as director and personally ran the school for a number of years. Boyd also gave generously to Grundy Presbyterian Mission School. A great civic leader and generous supporter of the Methodist Church at Plagah. A resident of Richlands until 1920, he moved to his farm Pisguh in Tazewell County, where he was residing at the time of his death on his farm. Beloved by all who knew him, Boyd was a great and good man, and he will be missed by all classes for his philanthrophies. Will, (C.W.) Was the son of Sheriff Elijah Boyd, and Octavia Hunt Boyd. Funeral Notice Of C.W. Boyd.
C.W. BOYD -- C.W. Boyd, aged 70, a retired lumberman and widely known Tazewell Citizen, died Sunday in a Richlands hospital where he had been admitted the previous day. Mr. Boyd was the organizer of a number of lumber companies in Southwest Virginia. His death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Boyd was born in Russell County near Swords Creek, and was a son of Elijah and Octavia Hunt Boyd. At the age of 12 years he was employed as laborer for the Norfolk and Western Railway at Swords Creek, later he entered the employ of the Yellow Poplar Lumber Co. of Buchanan County. Later he orgranized and supervised the following companies: White Oak Lumber Co., Virginia Hardwood Lumber Co, Kennedy Coal Corp and the Tazewell Milk products Association. Mr. Boyd was a resident of Richlands for a number of years and in 1920 he retired to his farm near Plum Creek. He was a member of the Pisgah Methodist Chruch. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vida Elswick Boyd; three sons, E. Ferrell Boyd, of Bristol Tenn; Bailey Boyd of Tazewell and Russell Boyd, of Haysi: five daughters (the obit only lists four however) Mrs. G. Thomas Johnson, of Knoxville, Tenn, Mrs. Eliza Ireson, Mrs. Bille DeBoard and Mrs. Thomas Taylor all of Bristol, Va; a brother J. A. Boyd, Erwin, Tenn; and two sisters, Mrs. Rhonda Runyon, of Swords Creek and Mrs. Dora Boyd of Sparta, ohio. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the First Methodist Church in Richlands. The Rev.W. E. Mustard of Tazewell, the Rev. L. W. Pierce, of Bristol and the Rev. C. E. Wilson officiated. Burial was in Jones Chapel near Cedar Bluff.
