Vienna, Austria
August 19th - 23rd: I was in Vienna, Austria. This was my first trip to Austria and it was great. I was lucky enough to have some friends in Vienna. My friend Barbara, who lives there, and my friend Tero, who was doing his MBA exchange in Vienna. They were great hosts and I was able to see most of the city. It was really beautiful.
In Vienna I was introduced to special wine bars. These bars are operated by the local vineyards and serve wine by the liter. It is normal to order a liter of water with the wine. It was explained to me that it is acceptable to mix water with table wine, however it is a sin to do that to fine wine. Being exposed to Finnish culture so long, I drank my wine straight, as did Tero. As Tero put it, "adding water to the wine would be like adding dirt to ice cream." This did pose a challenge as the Ausrians like to drink their wine out of beer glasses. At least the only victim that night was my camera.

Vienna is full of great cafes. It rained my first hour downtown
friday morning
and I spent it here. The rest of the trip was sunny.

Making friends.

Ask me about the story concerning this park:)
