Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn is the capital of Estonia.  It is a three hour trip from Helsinki.  It was a former Soviet Republic but has since rapidly worked to wipe all signs of the "occupation" away.  All but the ruins from the Russian bombing of the city during the closing days of WWII.  I have been there often and the most common excuse to go is for lunch.  Things are still very inexpensive especially the food.

Town square in Tallinn.  Notice the horse.

I think this is the city hall.  At any rate it is really old.

In Tallinn with some of my friends.  Notice that it is raining.  This is not a rare occurrence.

As a result of the rain, straight to the cafe.

Then to the bar

The wall of the old city

The Port of Tallinn

A Russian Orthodox Church in Tallinn.

Back to the ship where you pass the time by drinking and buying tax-free alcohol.
