1. INSTALLING

-Requirements: Amoralia requires an IBM or 100% compatable with Windows 95 or Windows NT (a 32-bit environment). A sound card and avi player (for the avi movie) is optional. Also, it is required that you have a DLL file called VBRun. Check and see if you have it in your windows\system directory (it will be called VBRUN400.dll or something like that) or try running the game. If you don't have it there will be a message box telling you. To get it, go to http://208.203.232.21/vbrun.html. Also, it's recommended that your color palette is set to High Color 16 bit.

-How to Start: To play Amoralia, simply double click on the file called AMORALIA.EXE. To run it straight from the Windows environment, go to "Run" (in the "Start" menu if you have Windows 95, in the "File" menu if you have Windows 3.X) and type in the directory the .exe file is in and the .exe. For instance: C:\GAMES\amoralia.exe. Also, make sure that the .exe file and the .avi file are in the same directory, or the .avi file won't play. Also, Amoralia is made for a 32-bit Windows environment. If you have Windows 95 or Windows NT, that's fine. I don't think it will run on Windows 3.X, but just in case it does, I've included directions for making an icon in it too (why not? May as well).

-MAKING AN ICON FOR WINDOWS 3.X
1. Go into a folder
2. Go to FILE, then NEW, then OKAY
3. Type in the directory Amoralia is in:
<Drive AMORALIA is in>:\<Directory>\amoralia.exe
(EXAMPLE: C:\GAMES\amoralia.exe)
4. You're done!

-MAKING AN ICON FOR WINDOWS 95
1. Right-click anywhere on the screen
2. Go to NEW, SHORTCUT
3. Have the destination directory be
<Drive AMORALIA is in>:\<Directory>\amoralia.exe
(EXAMPLE: C:\GAMES\amoralia.exe)
4. You're done!!

2. PLAYING

-Story: Click on "Story" on the title screen of the game to read the story.

-How to Play: If you want to look at something, click on "Look" in the Control window (the box at the bottom) then the item or person. The same is for "Hand" and "Talk." To look at your inventory, click on "Inventory." To look at something in the inventory, click on "Look." The same is for "Hand" and "Talk." When talking so someone, click on what you want to say on the left side of the talking window. The person will respond. After reading what he or she has to say, click on "Acknowledged" to bring up a list of choices of what you will say next. To exit Amoralia, click on "File" then "Exit." To save, click on "File" then "Save This Game" and type in the name you want to call the saved file, which must end in .evl, including the directory. Example: C:\GAMES\mygame.evl. Do the same when loading a game. One more thing: after you think you've done all you can do in the town of Sweetwater, click on "Leave Sweetwater" at the bottom of the town square screen. If you have finished everything, you'll leave.
