Welcome, please sign the guestbook and have fun!
There is no joy greater than knowing that growing inside your very own belly is a little baby that may someday change the world as we all know it today!

Hey, guys and dolls, when you go into the guestbook, please use the back button on the toolbar instead of the Return to Website button - we are experiencing technical difficulties at the moment. Sorry!

Here are the first pictures of the baby! These were taken via a vaginal ultrasound on October 3 at approximately 11:30 am. If you look carefully, you can see his little arm buds and his/her little leg bud! He/she is actually "standing on his/her head!" The little bubble you see behind him/her is his/her little egg sac! You should have seen the little imp squirming around in there. It seemed to do a little dance every time I laughed. The heart was going like crazy - all looks good and healthy at ten weeks! I will have another ultrasound in 8 weeks - maybe we'll know the sex by then! Special thanks to Richard McGraw for helping me get these pictures online!

Met with the ob on Thursday, we found the baby's heartbeat. It is strong and steady! Also, I found out that because of my diabetes, they will deliver the baby by the due date (April 28) because it is not good to wait to deliver the child of a diabetic. So, we can guarantee that the baby will not be late.
It's only been 14 weeks, and already I'm ready for this baby to come out. I have bruises and needle marks all over my belly from the insulin, and I am getting more and more tired. I am told by all that this will be worth it once I see that beautiful baby face, and I'm sure it will be. I just wanted to say thank you to all my friends and family who have helped out so much! Andi, Mary, Laura, Donna, Richard, Dad, Donnie, Rhonda, Mom, Holly, Aunt Jeanne, Aunt Carolyn, Suzanne, tj, Iggie, peanut, sprung-grrrl, C.L., Eddie C, C-pher, BNL David, Jeff E, Travis, and if I forgot anyone, it's just because I'm having a pregnancy brain-fart at the moment. You all mean so much to me!
Went to the doctor on 11/1/01. Baby's heartbeat is strong and steady at 150. She says it all sounds great!!!! Looks like it's going to be a very healthy little one. Look forward to more ultrasounds after 11/12/01. Then we will know if I have a Kayleigh or a Justin! I am now going into my fifth month - 16 weeks now. I am beginning to show, probably I think It's worse than it really is. But, none of my clothes fit.
Okay, the big news is in. I had an ultrasound on the 12th, and IT'S A BOY!!! After a grueling hour and a half flat on my back, the tech showed me his right femur, then his left femur. Then asked me if I'd like to know the gender. Well, from the looks of things, it wasn't difficult to tell whether the little one was a Kayleigh or a Justin. This makes it much easier to shop!!! I have an ultrasound pic, but, unfortunately, it is difficult to tell anything from the fuzzy pic. But, I will post it as soon as I have the proper equipment.

Ultrasound number one 10 weeks along
Here it is, the much anticipated second ultrasound. I know it looks more like something your psychologist would give you to see whether or not you are crazy, but, believe it or not, it's a face. The black blob on the right between the words THI and pan is Justin's brain. Below that is his eyes, and you can kind of see his nose. No, I'm not taking any hallucenegenics, but perhaps if you did, you could actually see the picture!! Also, Justin is moving like crazzzzy. He seems to really like "Pinch Me" by Barenaked Ladies - it makes him move and shake like a disco dancer.
It's been a busy few weeks since the last time I updated this page!!! We were in a car accident - rear-ended at a stop light. After 9 hours in the e.r., I am happy to report that both mommy and baby are okay. As Dr. Brock said, "I am happy to know you have a little stud-muffin in there." I've had three more ultrasounds since the last pictures. Baby looks great and is developing normally. I will have the ultrasound pics posted shortly so all can see!!! We are about to go into the third trimester, which is an exciting and exhausting time. It won't be long before everyone will be able to meet Justin Thomas Reed!!! I'm sure he is looking forward to meeting everyone, as well!!!
It's been a while since I've updated!!! Went to the doctor today - got new pics, Justin is BEAUTIFUL!! I will post the new pics as soon as I get access to a scanner. He is just moving like crazy - his head is down, and I swear he's trying to tickle me!! ;oP Today we found out that he is 3 lbs, 13 ozs - in the 93rd percentile of growth. He will probably deliver at over 8 lbs. Can you say ouch!! He is doing very well - has all his fingers and toes!! In fact, we got a BEAUTIFUL shot of his little foot. We are at 30 weeks with only 10 more to go. Once again, I want to thank all the people who have been sooooo supportive through this whole pregancy. I couldn't have made it this far without you guys & gals!! I can hardly wait to meet my brand-new son!!! And I'm sure he can't wait to meet the world!

April 20, 2002 at 12:28 am, Justin Thomas Reed was born at Swedish Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs 14 ozs and was 19 inches long. He had a bunch of dark brown hair. Unfortunately, his blood sugar was too low so he had to be taken to the special care nursery, where he spent 5 days getting glucose and being monitored. We finally came home April 25. Justin is a beautiful baby who is growing in leaps and bounds.
Justin and Grandma Ellie shortly after he was born. Justin came by Cesaerean section, and his blood sugar was a little low, so he had to be fed glucose. Because his blood sugar wouldn't raise, he had to go to the nursery.
This is Justin Thomas Reed in his first real photograph. We don't know if he's throwing up gang signals, giving us a peace sign, or playing rock, paper, scissors. All I know is he has the most impish expression.

This is Grandma holding Justin, feeding him his first bottle. Justin is just fresh out of the mommy oven. He's feeling a little puny because his blood sugar is too low. Mommy is comatose over in the corner.

This is me just two days before the induction. I am standing at a window in the Bank of America Tower in Seattle. Note how I look about ready to pop. Justin was born just 3 days later.

Justin's first real photo session in late-June of 2002, isn't he sooo photogenic?
Justin was christened on August 11, 2002 at - which, coincidentally, is his mommy's 33rd birthday - at Ravenna Blvd Presbyterian Church. It was a beautiful service made complete by Justin trying to lap up the baptismal water as it dripped down his forehead. At five months old, Justin never ceases to amaze his mommy. He can stand with assistance, holds his own bottle, and has a whole repetoire of noises which includes an infectious belly laugh and impish fake cough. To this day, he is still his mommy's pride and joy and continues to amaze with each new day.
