		SIR HUSTON OF CEDAR CREEK

	November 2005 Hi Peg, Houston is doing just great! He made the adjustment to our home with no problems. He has slept all night long, never have heard a whimper out of him, of course he sleeps with us. I took him in to the Vet. for his 12 week check up and he is in excellent health and weighs 20.8 pounds (he is quite a hardy eater). He has such a wonderful disposition and his face just melts me. He is very curious and seems to enjoy the cattle, we have very high hopes that he will be a good working dog for our operation on the farm. P.S. Doctor Tom (Veterinarian) spoke very highly of you and your dogs! Jo

Huston is starting to help with the cattle but still is in the "watch and learn" stage. I've enclosed a picture of him taken the other day with his "buddy". He's an absolute joy! Thank you. Jo

It was so nice to hear from you and thank you for the pictures. Belle looks so much like Huston it is unbelievable. He has become a HUGE part of our family, Rick can not go anywhere without Huston by his side. We have cattle south of Everly at my parents so the highlight of each day for Huston is to ride with Rick in the feed truck to feed the cattle down there. Our operation does not require him to watch gates for the cattle lots, but Rick did notice something interesting while calving this spring. When Rick was treating a sick calf in the pasture the cow would always come running up to the calf and Huston would step in between the cow and Rick and the calf and bark if he needed to. Also one night we were relaxing and Huston wanted to go outside so Rick let him out and he started barking and wouldn't quit. Rick got him to return to the house finally and that was when Rick realized that we had cattle out across the road at our son's place. If Huston wouldn't have barked to let us know something was wrong we would have had cattle out on the highway in the dark. That was a huge Blessing to us!
