| I cant remember a time when I didnt love horses. Everything I loved had horses on it. Every chance I got Id read about or watch movies about horses. My parents thought it was a phase. When I was 10 I went down the road to see if I could work brushing and cleaning stalls at a neighbors house. What I gained was a great friend and teacher, a lot of experience, and an even deeper love for horses. 4 years later when I found out she was moving to Oklahoma I was devastated. However, I had proved to my parents that this wasnt a phase and I got my very first horse of my own, actually they were two horses. A 8 y/o TB/QH mare named Katelyn, and a 2 y/o QH/Paint gelding named Buster. With Katelyn I leaned so much about riding and about the kind of bond a person can have with a horse. With Buster, I learned that I loved training and the sense of accomplishment I got when he learned something new. Since then Ive gained experience with many different breeds of horses from Appaloosas and Arabians to a Zebra. Ive met some great horsemen and some not so great horsemen, but Ive found that you can learn a lot from both, even if its what not to do. Ive worked with horses of all ages and have experience in correcting behavioral problems. I found my favorite thing to do is train, but through school I found I also loved working with foals. |
