I arrived
at China Basin Friday afternoon after a night at Angel Island.
My Plastic
Classic Friday night rafting buddy, Mark Harrington, Ananke, #166
had
already
arrived and was ready for a very calm evening on the Bay. I'll even
admit
to seeing a sunset this year (after I put on my coat and woolies ;-)
Steve
Cossman, Juno, #534, arrived Saturday morning (with a dink that
didn't leak)
and
provided some water taxie service to the docks of the Bayveiw Boat Club
and
boat
to boat.
Rob Squire,
Head Over Heels, #96 approach with the sun at his back like a High
Noon gun fighter.
He must
mean buisness this year. At first I thought that was a halo over
his head but
soon
relized #96 was sporting a new radar tower. (Lucky boat ;-)
Steve
Cossman gives Mark a donut ride around the Basin.
Can
you believe those guy's just ran off and left me at the starting line!
It's
hard to get any respect from this SF gang!
Chuck
Millar, Cadenza #616, moving up on Rob Squire (you can just see Rob's radar
tower
on the far left of the photo. We were heading for the last Mark before
the finish.
Chuck
must have a V8 engine in Cadenza.... look at her close the gap and soon
to pass #96.
The
three of us were together for most of the race however, when I went around
the last Mark
my taped
jib seams came apart and I was never to see these guy's again :-(
(except
at
the bar ;-)
That's
all I had with one exception and I'll just mail that one to Mark
in a
plain brown envelope marked for his eye's only. Ok Mark?
