Update - December 22, 2004

These last couple of months have been filled with change. As I mentioned in our last update, our role here is shifting away from involvement in the "day to day" stuff and moving more toward working with the leadership here. In October and November we were able to start the development of the VISION 21 Group. Our hope is that this group will ultimately become the Board of Directors for CEBP. This is an important step in the process of working ourselves out of a job here (at least with regard to the school). As we look toward the future, Noreen and I see our role as that of facilitating the development of the Board, helping to find funding for the Physical Plant and identifying Human Resources for the Continuing Education needs and Professional Development of the Staff of CEBP.

VISION 21

This group consists primarily of Christian Leaders and Educators working to:

1. Develop a long term academic vision

2. Establish growth goals

3. Develop a plan for local promotion and funding.

The VISION 21 Group has established the following goals:

1. To provide leadership for the families associated with the school in order to motivate them to participate in fundraising projects to improve our current facilities and purchase new equipment for the school.

2. To develop local resources and coordinate external support for the growth and improvement of CEBP.

3. That CEBP should expand in order to provide Bilingual Elementary Education and to develop a College.

4. That CEBP should promote Christian Education in other parts of Mexico and develop a working relationship with the San Pablo Seminary to establish a Christian Education Program.

Prayer Topics

1. We started a Web Site that will combine contributions from the San Pablo Seminary, Blas Pascal and a Yucatan History Site (if you can read Spanish, check out the site at: www.serfam.org ). This site will eventually provide resources for Christian Leaders, a Q&A page for Seminary staff, info about Blas Pascal and our Continuing Ed. Program for teachers and eventually, we're hoping to establish a Historical Research Center (including the Website) for the Yucatan.

2. Please pray for funding, funding, & funding. We're pretty much on schedule for having the school generate sufficient income to pay for itself, but expansion is a different story. Interest rates on loans here are way out of site, so to build, purchase needed property & build again, we need to raise funds and get Work Teams involved in the construction. keep watching with us to see how the Lord will provide.

3. Noreen & I will be in the US most of the months of February and March. Please pray for us as we will be traveling extensively and that we will be able to clearly communicate our ministry. We will be looking for Human Educational Resources as well... possibly Elementary level teachers to help us get the Elementary School Project up and running.
