As I sat at my school desk with writing pen in my hand
I will be a knight on a charger with long lance
at my side
No!I think I will leave the lovely maidens, to knights
older than me
I can see King Arthur at Camelot with Lady Guinevere
Oh what a place to be living for an adventurous lad
Wow! A big pointed hat will be placed on my head
The mighty Merlin the wizard will learn things from me
Have you been paying attention to what I have said
A lesson in life I was surely taught that fine day
29th May 2001.
I heard "This geometry lesson"...then my thoughts
drifted away,
To a time when knights on white horses saved maidens
from doom
this land where Wizards and hobgoblins did stay.
to slay monstrous dragons who breathe raging fire,
Then after my dinner to yonder castle I'll ride
and save that fair damsel then win her desire.
for women in my life later on I will meet,
So show me that dragon and just hand me my sword
and I will slay it stone dead at my feet.
and the Knights,Lancelot and bold Ivanhoe,
I will help them to search for the lost Holy Grail
then to Jerusalem on a crusade I will go.
from great Wizards I will learn magic spells,
Then turn all nasty people in to big ugly toads
and watch them hop through the fields of bluebells.
covered in crescent moons and bright shiny stars,
The words Kalazoom and Abracadabra I'll say
and keep eye of newt potions, in green coloured jars.
then I'll have his job at the end of the day,
I was just about to be given the keys of the realm
when all of a sudden I heard my teacher say.
or been day dreaming since twenty minutes to three,
I could have done with a Wizard to make me disappear
for trouble ahead there, I could plainly see.
one forever more that would not leave my head,
While it's great for a child to dream of Wizards
and Knights
make sure you do it safely tucked up in your bed.
