Key For A dream.

Written by Freddie Mac.
3rd April 2001.

Dreams are things we need to have
and must never let them die,
We keep them hidden deep in our hearts
from others who seek to pry.

In these dreams we do many things
that we normally never could do,
We climb the highest mountain peak
That is scaled by oh so few.

Our minds may wander in the clouds
to dreams of bygone days,
When we were young and carefree souls
who enjoyed our rebellious ways.

Those days are gone they won't return
just memories for our life's book,
To dwell on them will cloud our eyes
for the future is where we must look.

To dream for others is your fervent hope
and to put in them your trust,
This wish no pot of gold could buy
nor bags of angel dust.

If you could reach in to my heart
and find what beats so strong,
This throbbing gateway to my mind
where dreams for you belong.

For I have known you in countless lives
this vision of eternal years,
I give you my mind, my soul, my heart
my laughter, my joy, my tears.

The clock strikes twelve to let us know
that our time is moving on,
I smile at thoughts that when we dream
it brings a brand new dawn.

The road we walk the path we take
is not always what it seems,
So eternal hope I pray you find
in the warm bosom of your dreams.

My strength is you and your strength me
forever clasped through time,
We'll climb the mountain of doubt and fear
with dreams we'll conquer this climb.

So keep your dreams close to your heart
and strive to make them be,
But share them sometimes with the world
you will find life does hold the key.
