The Cloud And The Butterfly

Written by Fredddie Mac.
March 29th 2001.

The cloud was sitting in the sky
slowly drifting through the day,
It would change its colour and its form
From blue to white then grey.

But the cloud was sad it's mood was dark
it's inner soul was sighing,
It wanted more than to be a cloud
sitting there till it started crying.

It whispered softly to its friend
can you make my dreams come true,
Just blow me down to yonder place
that from here we sit and view.

The wind replied to its friend the cloud
do not wish outside your station,
For there lies the place we keep alive
the one whom we give salvation.

In natures magic garden far below
with wings of gossamer so fine and dry,
From a cocoon a life was born anew
to become the resplendent butterfly.

With life so short though full of grace
this creature with wings of gold,
Did flutter gently in the breeze
Its flight so free and bold.

Its wings did beat in silent flight
to reach far to the sky,
Oh friend the wind I want to be
A cloud that sits so high.

You are a thing of beauty! butterfly
do not wish for any other,
The cloud it wishes to be like you
a vision, dancing full of colour.

In wishes and dreams our futures lie
through accepting what we now hold,
To change the balance is for the wind
Which is powerful wise and old.

I the cloud will shed my tears
to make rainbows in the sky,
Seven prisms of light on gossamer wings
for you my lovely butterfly.

For unknown reasons we all are here
we live and strive to do our best,
we hope and pray to better our self's
but are thankful for why we are blessed
