Famous Lakes of District:       

                                                                                                                       

 

                                         There are a number of petty torns in the district  but the lakes of Kaghan valley are one of the important parts in the topography of  this district. These are as under:

                    It is the largest one, with a half mile in length and 300 meter in breadth. It lies at altitude of 11200 feet in the shape of an irregular crescent. The average depth of lake is about 150 feet and it is situated at 16 km west of Babusar top.

                    According to a local tale Emperor Akbar's daughter recovered her eye-sight after bathing here.

               

     It is prettily situated at the junction of Purbaila stream with the Kunhar river at the elevation of about 1200 feet . This point is located at a short diversion of some 19 km from Besal  village. It is circular lack with half a mile diameter.

       

                               It is an enchanting lack which lies some 9 km to the east of Naran at the altitude of 10718 feet(3040.m)above MSL. The length and breadth of the lack is1 km and 1/2 km respectively. It is a well developed tourist spot and its dimension is suitable for boating. The lake derives its name from a folk lore which tells about the romance of a Mughal prince Saif-ul-Malook with a Fairy  Badi-ul-Jamal.
