I wasn't always the well dressed, happy fellow you see here.
In September of 2001, I was in a Kill Shelter, where I was dumped & left to die. But, that was not to be case.
I was sprung from this shelter by a rescue group & found love & care.
She said I have a sweet face, the BT wiggle & a sparkle in my eyes.
The nexted day off to the vet I went. None of the vets in the office have ever seen anything like me. They did some blood work & an exam & all checked out fine. So the nexted step was to do a biospy on one of the growths.
That same day they removed 5 large tumors.
And the nexted day I went home. Now we waited for the results.
You can see I am quite a normal BT, other then my body. I was settling in & eating & getting lots of love & attention. And considering all that I've been thru I am still loving & trusting.
had Mast Cell Tumors. Since I have so many of them, they cannot
remove them. So, the prognosis was 2-9 months. At that time it was deceided that I would live with CC for as I have & the rescue group that took me from the shelter would cover all my vet expenses. My new Mommy worked very hard with making & donating items for the group to use to raise funds for me. That way I wouldn't be taking away from other dogs in need. The doctors
put me on medication to help with the effects of these tumors. I take Predisone daily, along with Pepcid & Benedryl. I also eat a special food from the vet that is bland & won't upset my tummy. Since that time, I have continued to amaze everyone. even my VET!. I now weigh 18 pounds & by taking the Predisone many of the tumors have gone down in size. And I have not gotten any new ones! I also go every other month for check ups & blood work. I am happy to say that my most recent test results were "Normal".
But at the begining of 2003 the rescue group that was sponsoring my vet care has stopped paying for it. Leaving Mommy with the full cost of my care. When the many kind & caring people who know my Mommy & how hard she has worked to help many dogs in rescue found out they came to the rescue. Some sent in donations & others have supported fund raising auctions for my vet bills.
The Boston no one wanted.
But, with the Kind, Caring & Compassionate people he is now happy, loved & well cared for. Anyone that is part of Peanut's "FAN CLUB" have had a part in bringing love & joy
into his life.
That is something we all should
remember & be proud of.
