Arbok performing Light Screen
by Sforzie
"Arbok goooooooo!" my master yelled sending me out of my pokball. I was ready to battle the Pikachu again. Even though I lost to it so many times in the past, I was more determined than ever to beat it. It wasn't my fault that I was not prone to electric attacks. That Pikachu's thundershock was too much to handle.
All I wanted to do was to show my master I can win. I have done it, just not against the Pikachu. She was so proud of how I battled at the human "Princess Festival." I was happy to win for her, and had always wanted to show her more. I am not a weak pokmon, and my master sadly did not let me show her my full capabilities by always sending me out against something too much for me to bear.
I looked around me, and didn't see my partner, Wheezing, anywhere. I snuck a look at his master, and saw he was not happy. He had his arms folded with a frown on his face. I assumed him and my master got into another fight. Their fights had become more intense recently. My master was getting even angrier than ever at her losing, and blamed it on James. He retaliated, and they fought and fought until something more important distracted them. They were also fighting more and more about unimportant things, such as whose turn it was to do chores and so forth. It looked like to me that they were just getting sick of each other's presence, which I didn't like.
I shrugged it off and started to concentrate on the battle, and guessed I would just be fighting alone this time. I stood poised ready for battle awaiting my master's command.
"Arbok..." she started.
"Pikachu thunderbolt now!" the Pikachu's master yelled.
"Kaaaaaaaaaachhhhuuuuuu!"
The Pikachu sent hundreds volts of electricity coursing through my body. I was instantly down, and was struggling hard to get up. I couldn't let the Pikachu win again!
"Hey twerp! That's cheap!" my master yelled at the brat.
"Hahahahahahahahaha!" He started to laugh. "You don't think your puny snake could actually ever beat my Pikachu? I don't know why you ever even try!" He had a smug expression on his face.
Puny? If I had the strength, I would slither up to that spoiled brat, and swallow him whole right then and there. I took a look at my master to see her expression, and she looked beyond angry.
Jessie marched right up to the brat, and pulled him up by his collar. "What did you say? Would you like to repeat that?"
Her eyes were flaming. I had never seen her so angry, and believe me, I've really seen her mad.
The brat was flailing his legs up off the ground. He was starting to choke, and the Pikachu could see that. It started to prepare for its thundershock to my master.
I sprung up with strength I didn't know I even had, and smacked the Pikachu out of the way as hard as I could with my tail. It was not getting up. I was pleased, but my master did not acknowledge my small victory, she was still was staring down the Pikachu's master.
My master threw him down. "You and your Pikachu," she spat, "are going to pay for saying that!" And with that, she turned away, and marched ahead.
James and the Meowth went after her, shortly following me. They walked, and I slithered for a while in silence. After about 10 minutes my master spun around, facing us. She still had the pure hatred in her eyes. I couldn't blame her, I was pretty peeved as well.
"I mean it." She said, "I'm going to make them pay dearly."
"And how? May I ask?" James said.
Jessie paused before answering, "Arbok will kill Pikachu. That will show that little amateur how weak she is!"
Wow, I was going to kill the pokmon? I had never thought my master would go that far, but I would comply. I had deep mental wounds in my heart from that Pikachu. I wanted revenge just as badly as my master did.
"Kill da Pikachu?" the Meowth finally spoke. "Dat's a new one! Ya know what that means? Well, I'll tell ya. If your Arbok actually manages to kill that Pikachu, dat means all the time we spent on capturing it would be for nothing!"
"I don't care!" my master bellowed. "I hate that brat, and I hate that Pikachu even more! Do you know how much pain and humiliation it has put me through?"
"Yeah Jess," James cut in. "I know, because I was there along with you enduring it. All of it." He locked eyes with my master.
"Then you understand," she said more quietly. "I want that Pikachu to feel first hand on what it's done to us over the time."
James and that Meowth said no more. They knew they could not stop her, and it was futile to try. They had to accept the fact that she was seeking revenge, and could not be stopped.
My master looked down at me. "You are in this with me aren't you Arbok? Are you going to go through with it?"
"Charr! Charbok! (I will do it for you, master)" I said. "Charbok (I will do it.)"
James and the Meowth also agreed to help, even though they still weren't completely happy with it. I knew they would help, those three always stick together in everything, and knew they would this time. It was now time for me to do training for my battle.
"Well..." my master said, looking at James and Meowth. "First we need to do something to protect Arbok from that Pikachu's electric attacks. She's weak to them."
I could see the wheels turning in James head. He wasn't stupid. James thought of a lot of the good plans for us. No one should judge him right off the bat. He always holds the most promising ideas in that head of his, but I think my master and the cat just hear some of it, and take over. They don't let him tell them the whole thing, so it can be well organized and successful.
"I know," he finally said. He got up. "Come on."
"Hey, sounds like you have a plan James!" my master exclaimed. "Where are you going?"
James smiled. "I know a way for Arbok to get the ultimate shield!"
"Huh?" Meowth scampered after us as well.
"You know the BIG pokmart in Celadon?" James asked.
Jessie and Meowth nodded.
"Well, I for one know that they sell a thing in there called "technical machines".
"What's that?" asked Meowth.
"Hey, aren't they those things that teach pokmon new attacks without them learning them on their own?"
"Yup, Jess. I know we can find Arbok some good one." James looked down at me. "I've heard of a really good one for electric attacks. It's called the Light Screen."
"Ohhhh," Jessie said. "I hear that attack not only puts up an impressive shield, but sends back the attack to the defending pokemon! Really impressive. That's a good idea James!" She smiled at him.
We soon approached the Celadon city pokmart. My master let me go in with them. She was talking with the TM seller.
"I need a TM 76," she said.
"Light Screen?" the salesman said. "Ok, that would be sixty dollars."
Jessie's mouth dropped about a foot. "SIXTY DOLLARS?!" she yelled. "That's a rip-off!"
"Hey, that's one of the most powerful TMs ever made. This is one of the lowest prices you'll find!"
"Lowest?!" ahe repeated.
James put a hand on Jessie's shoulder. "It's ok Jess," he said. "I'll help pay for it." James reached into his pocket and handed her thirty dollars.
Jessie smiled, and unexpectedly gave James a small hug. "Thanks James, I owe you one!"
James blushed, and I gave a little snaky smile. It was nice of him to help us in that way, he was being really generous.
The four of us were outside, when we realized that we had no clue how to use the funky sixty-dollar rod in Jessie's hand.
Meowth was the first to speak up. "Sooo... what do we do with dis thing?"
"That is a good question. How do you use it James?" Jessie looked up at him.
"Well... ummmm..." He started to think. "I saw it once on the TV. The TM is used with a TM machine which can be found in Pokcenters!" he said, remembering.
"Ok!" Jessie said. "So that's where we will go."
We soon arrived at the center. We were lucky we actually had normal clothes on that day, or else we would get booted out of he place. Neither the Nurse, nor anyone else knew our true identities.
We found the TM machine, and after dropping in some coins, my master strapped this funny looking contraption on my head.
"Ok Arbok," she said. "This might be a little painful, and feel funny. But don't worry, you'll be happy with what you get! Are you ready for this?"
"Charbok! Charr Charrrr! (I'm ready, I'll do it)!" I said excitedly.
"Ok here goes..." Jessie pulled the lever down on the TM machine.
My master was right, I did feel funny. I could sense myself glow. There was small mixture of pain involved with it as well. It felt like a very puny Pikachu doing a thundershock on me. I could feel myself glow even harder, and soon my whole body produced a bright yellow barrier. I could tell this was the light screen.
I opened my eyes up, just realizing they were welded shut. The attack was over, and I was the one who was struggling to recover from it. It was an overwhelming experience, which was not entirely easy to perform the first time.
My master and her partners were looking at me with amazement. Jessie came up to me and petted my head. "That's really good Arbok, really good! I know you can do this." She smiled at me. Her partners gave me some more compliments, and I was pleased with myself. I then was more inspired than ever to fulfill my mission.
Days passed by, and my master trained and trained me with helpful assistance from her partners. Their relationship was much improving over the days. They rarely fought now. I perfected my light screen, and learned how to use its power wisely. I was getting stronger and stronger by the day. Sometimes my master would push me to my limit, but I complied and worked even harder.
It was the fourth day of training when my master declared my ultimate challenge. "Ok Arbok!" she said. "I think you're ready!"
"Charbok Chaaa (Ready for what)?"
"Arbok, to test your strength against that Pikachu you will fight a gym leader!"
"Charrrrr! (Gym leader)!" I said excitedly.
"You need to fight Erika since she's the closet one."
"ERIKA?" James repeated, startled. "Remember what happened last time we were at her gym? Well, let me refresh your memory. We completely blew it up, and almost killed people and pokemon during the process. I knew I shouldn't have listened to you that time." James turned away.
I knew bringing back up what we did to the gym wasn't pleasant for James, he regretted his actions the most. When we were passing back through the city the next day after we lit the dynamite in it, and saw what really happened, James was very quiet and moody for a while. He knew he was responsible if anyone had died in it, and he stressed his brain thinking about it.
"James," my master said gently. " We're not going to hurt anyone or blow up anything this time. I just want Arbok to battle her to prove herself to be strong, and Erika is the nearest gym leader."
James glanced up at her and sighed. I knew he was going to go along with it, and I was glad he was going to be there for us.
Jessie and James disguised themselves in these ridiculous costumes. At least James wasn't the girl this time! They completely covered themselves in these baggy gangster clothes. I would have chosen different clothing, since I wouldn't want people looking like hoodlums if I was a gym leader. Erika stared us down when we saw her again, but reluctantly let us in.
"Choose your pokmon wisely!" She yelled across the stadium. "For this will not be an easy match! Three on three! Are you ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be!" my master yelled. "Hey James," she said looking over her shoulder. "I might need to use your pokemon just in case."
"Ok." James took out his pokballs, and handed them to Jessie. He locked his eyes with hers. "Good luck Jess," he said sincerely.
Jessie smiled. "Thanks."
"Meowth is ready to help out too!" Meowth added.
James and Meowth both wished me luck. I was finally ready. I knew this battle was so important to my master, I couldn't let her down.
"All right!" Erika said. "My first pokemon will be... Tangela!" She sent a pokeball out on the stadium.
I knew this one was going to be easy. Us poison pokemon have very little advantages. There are about 5 pokemon we have an advantage to, and one of them happened to be Tangela. She was a pure grass pokemon.
"Tangela," Erika started. "Vine whip now!" The Tangela sent its tens of vines hurtling my direction.
"Arbok. Don't let them get to you, use your tail whip!" my master screamed.
I complied and revolved around, slamming my tail against the Tangela's many whips. I cut some of them, and the Tangela was not only off guard, but was in pain as well.
"Good, Arbok!" my master praised. "Now do... the acid attack!" she yelled leaping up.
I spit a poisonous acidic liquid towards the Tangela. She had no time to block it, and was instantly hit.
"Oeeeeeeee!!" it screamed. The poison was getting to her, and proved to much for her to bear.
"Tangela" Erika cried sending Tangela back. "Perhaps I underestimated your Arbok, she is strong, but lets see how she will do against this pokemon!"
I snuck a look at my master. She had a stern look on her face, I could tell she was in complete concentration. So was I, I looked back at Erika, awaiting her next pokemon.
"Gooooo... Scyther!"
"Char (Scyther?)" I said. When did Erika get this one? Last time we checked she didn't have it. I knew Scyther was a very strong pokmon for a bug type. Beating it would be more of a challenge.
Erika started off first again. "Scyther, do your Swords dance!"
The Scyther started to spin around. "Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy Scy!" it yelled, giving me a headache. I knew that this act of spinning around was somehow making it stronger, and more likely to hurt me badly.
I took a small glance at my master. She was nervous, but still ready for battle. "Arbok!" she called out. "Do your screech attack!"
"Charbok!" I said. "Chaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr!" I let out my ear-piercing screech. Everyone in the gym was covering their ears except my master and I. The Scyther immediately stopped twirling around, and started sinking to the ground trying to cover its ears the best way it could.
My master smiled, she knew it was now time to really attack. "Arbok! Quick attack now!" she said immediately.
I lunged at the Scyther, knocking it down to the ground with a thud. I backed away, hoping I had finished it off.
"Scyther!" Erika yelled.
I had thought I triumphed again, and turned around smiling to my master. She had a pleased look on her face, but it changed in a split second to terror. "Arbok watch out!" she screamed.
I immediately spun around, but it was too late. I felt the full impact of the Scythers blades upon my scales. "Chaaaaaaaaaaa!" I yelped. It had left two painful marks. But I was not through, if there was one thing my master taught me during training, it was to deal with the pain.
I somehow managed to overcome the throbbing wounds, and lunged full force into the Scyther. I bit my razor sharp fangs into the Scyther's flesh, emitting poison into it. I let go, and watched my victim sink to the ground.
"Scyther return!" Erika yelled, sending the pokemon back to its orb.
I was victorious once again, and looked at my master for support. She went up to me and gave me a weak smile. "You scared me for a second there Arbok, but you did a very good job!" She gave me a little pet, and continued. "Do you want to sit this next one out?"
"Cha (NO)!" I said sternly. "Char Charbok Charrrrr Char Char Charbok Charboka (I came this far, and I will fight to the end. I'm not giving up)!"
My master sighed. I didn't think she got much of what I said, but she did understand that I was going to fight through this all. She backed away. "Ok Arbok, you're on."
I smiled and turned around back to Erika who without a word was sending out her next pokemon. A Vileplume! So she finally decided to evolve that Gloom. That little pokemon was exceptionally strong as a Gloom, and no doubt was even stronger as its final stage. Oh well, at least it couldn't release that putrid smell anymore.
My master was starting off first. "Arbok, go! Use your wrap attack!" I pounced at it, squeezing with my body.
"Plune!" It yelped, in agony.
"Vilepume!" Erika yelled. "Resist it! Use your stun spore attack!"
"Vilepume!" It obeyed. The Vilepume concentrated, and discharged this blue mist from its large flower. I immediately let go, and felt the force of the stun spore. I began to feel numb and dizzy.
"Come on Arbok, shake it off!" my master yelled.
"Go Arbok Go! That's our snake, you can do it!" James and Meowth chanted. They were in those black cheerleading costumes again. They looked preposterous, but I was glad for the support. That was enough to make me unleash my power inside. I lunged at the Vileplume once again, whapping it with my tail. That was enough to knock it down for good.
"YAY!!!" The two screamed jumping up and down. "Arbok is the victor!"
My master smiled ear to ear, and ran up to me. She threw her arms out and gave me a big hug. "You did it Arbok! I knew you could do it!" I was really happy, I had done it for my master, and all the pain was worth this.
Erika retreated her pokemon. "That was a most impressive battle! Your Arbok is exceptionally strong. She is your key to being a pokemon master. Here." She walked up to us, and handed Jessie a colorful little object.
"Huh what's this?" Jessie asked. I guess she forgot that when you won a match to a gym leader, you got a badge. She had never fought one before, and getting a badge was not her intentions. "Oh a badge," she said. "That's ok, I don't want one."
"No, take it silly. You deserve it. You and your Arbok performed an impressive battle. Besides, what was your purpose to come down here and battle me if you're not collecting badges?"
"Well, actually, this was a big warm-up for a battle I'm going to do." Jessie replied.
"A warm-up? Wow. Well, this is something new. I'm sure you're going to be victorious. To Whoever you want to battle. With a pokemon like that, you're undefeatable!"
Erika soon began to notice myself sway around. The stun spore was at its maximum effect, and was really getting to me. "Ohhhh your Arbok is getting to be more paralyzed. I can help." Erika leapt up, and sprinted towards her massive garden.
My master directed her attention back to me. "What's wrong Arbok?" she asked, concerned.
James and Meowth came over to us too. "Remember Jess," James said. "It was the Vileplume's stun spore."
"Oh yeah!" my master exclaimed. "Poor Arbok, you're paralyzed. It's ok." She said giving me a pat. "I think Erika went to get you some potion for paralysis."
She came back in a couple of minutes. Erika had a green bottle with her. It was full of some liquid. "This is paralyze heal. It will help Arbok." she explained. I let her come forth and administer the medicine. Sure enough, I began to feel better almost instantly.
"Thanks!" Jessie smiled. "I better go now. Good match." She stuck her hand out, and Erika shook it.
"Good luck, Jessie!" she waved, as we departed.
"I'm really proud of how you fought, Arbok," Jessie said while we were walking. "You show guts like that when you battle the rat, and you're sure to obliterate it!" I was glad my master was giving me all this support. I knew that my battle with the Pikachu would be a very good one indeed. It was going to get what was coming to it. I was going to make sure of that.
We had made camp that night of my victory over Erika, and were celebrating. My master and James had bought some soda, and we made a toast to it. I held up my cup with the edge of my tail, and started sipping it. I was beginning to enjoy freedom from the pokball. I had not been in it for about two weeks. My master said that being more aware of my surroundings would help my training. I liked that aspect of training the most. I was not going to look forward to the day I was going back to the pokball...
While I was sipping my drink, the humans were in deep discussion about the battle. "You did a real good job today Jess," James complimented. My master smiled, and they continued talking. I was noticing a change in their behavior. Their fights became far less frequent, and they were just happier. Somehow, this situation was a positive reinforcement in their relationship.
After about an hour or so, my master decided to bring me into the conversation. "Now all we have to do is find the brat," she told me. "And then we're all ready!"
"Ha that won't be hard!" Meowth interrupted. "We always seem to run into team twerp even when we don't want to." He giggled.
My master smiled. "Its ten o'clock. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. Let's get some sleep." All three of us complied and started preparing our sleeping places. Mine was just a pile of leaves, and I was happy with it. I looked at the humans before I went to sleep. Their beds were awfully close to each other. I mean they were practically on top of each other! I had my suspicions about those two. I soon fell asleep, thinking about tomorrow...
The next day, we finally found the brat and his companions. After about half a day of following them around, my master wanted the battle to take place in a secluded area, we presented ourselves. The first time without the motto!
"Augh! It's Team Rocket!" the lead brat exclaimed. His traditional reply for whenever he met up with us.
"Cool it," Jessie said. "All I want from you this time is a simple pokmon battle."
"Huh?" he said with a dazed look on his clueless face. "What's the catch?"
"Nothing. Just want to battle you," she said simply.
"Hah! All right I accept!" se said, leaping forward into a ridiculous stance. Ash began to pick a pokball from his belt. "Squirtle I choose..."
"HALT!" My master put a hand in front of his face, and he promptly fell over. "I'll only battle one on one against Pikachu with my Arbok."
"The Arbok? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Ash, the Pikachu, and that red-haired girl burst out laughing. "That's all this match is going to be! A big laugh!"
She turned redder than a tomato. I could she was resisting the urge to sock him. HARD. "We'll just see about that!" she hissed going back to my side.
At that, the brat managed to somehow see my master was very serious, and stopped laughing.
Jessie crouched down to face me. "Remember what we learned Arbok. With the light screen, you have to do it with out my command, as soon as that Pikachu is preparing to shock you. I'm counting on you. But I know you can do it!"
"Char Charbok (I will not let you down.)" With one last look, I faced my opponent, with a strong urge for battle, which showed in my eyes. I could tell that this was going to be one of the most important battles I would ever partake in, and I had to make it memorable.
"Are you ready?" Ash yelled across the field this time.
My master nodded.
"All right! Let's get this battle on. Pikachu goooooo!" At that, the Pikachu leapt high in the air, with the same determination in its eyes. Too bad I had to kill such a good fighter...
"Arbok go!" my master yelled pointing out towards the field. I majestically soared from her side, onto the battle arena.
As usual, my opponent was the first attack. "Pikachu, do your agility!" Ash hollered. The Pikachu complied and began sprinting at almost the speed of light across the field. The brat was actually being smart, not using the electric attacks first.
I already knew how my master was going to handle this. The same as what we did to the Scyther. I looked at her, and she smiled. "You know what to do, Arbok! Sing your snakey sellout!" she giggled.
I wish she treated this battle a little more seriously. I sighed a little mushroom cloud, but shrieked an even louder "Chaaaaarrrrr" than I had in my battle with the Scyther. And as expected, the Pikachu instantly stopped. Covering its ears, it let out a little cry. This time I could see that even my master was not enjoying it. I stopped, and awaited her command.
She shook her head a few times, trying to get out the pain in her ears before giving the next command. "Ok Arbok!" she said back on track. "Do your tail-whip attack!"
I pounced at the Pikachu, when it was still dealing with the pain in its sensitive ears. It was completely unaware of me. I gave the little rodent a good smack in its fanny, and sent it flying up into the air. I didn't think that attack did a lot of damage, what it did was make the Pikachu actually aware of me.
"Pikachu thunder shock now!" Ash cried when Pikachu was still in the air.
I was completely unprepared for the electricity at that point, but I still knew what to do.
"Kaaaaaaaaaa," it started, with electric sparks from its cheeks.
I began my light-screen at that second. My eyes began to glow, and I had the neon yellow shield around me a split second before the electricity hit me. This was what I was waiting for! The electricity ricashaded off the shield and impacted the Pikachu full force! It finally got a good dose of its own medicine!
"Chaaaaaaaa!" it screamed in agony. The Pikachu fell to the ground, but was not finished yet, it was struggling to get up.
"Noooo Pikachu!" the brat screamed.
I was so happy for myself, I had finally worked the light-screen in a trainer battle, and succeeded! My master was just as happy, so were the other two. All three of them were jumping around, hugging each other!
I let out an impatient "Char" to get my master on track. That did it.
"Oh sorry Arbok, but that was great! I'm so proud of you!" she said smiling. "But now it's time to finish it for good!" she said more sternly. "Bite attack now!"
At that, I lunged back at the Pikachu, my jaws around its little waist.
"Chaaaaaaaaaa!" it screamed.
At that, my clutch became even stronger. I soon tasted blood. It was a peculiar sensation at first, for I had not tasted blood since I was a tiny Ekans, and hunted my prey. I began to recall how it tasted, and began to even enjoy the flavor of it.
The Pikachu began to scream even louder, but I would not heed to its pleas.
"Pikachuuuuuuu!" Ash cried, springing toward me. At that, I promptly swung my powerful tail, and knocked him back about 10 feet. He tried, but could not get up.
"Stop it!" The redhead began to sob. "Let go of him now! Please."
But I would not listen to either of them. I just kept on squeezing, and squeezing. The Pikachu's cry became weaker and weaker. I soon began to hear, and feel the Pikachu's bones start to crunch.
I guess my master couldn't take that anymore, she couldn't see it suffer like that any longer. Humans. She leapt up to me. "Arbok stop it! Let go of it now! That's enough!"
At first I ignored her, the passion for its death became stronger and stronger by the second. I didn't want to leave this job unfinished. But she kept persisting. "Arbok that's enough! LET GO NOW!" she screamed. My pokmon instincts were returning, Jessie was my master, and I had to obey. I let go of the Pikachu, sending it to the ground in a bloody heap.
I looked up at her. "Char CHAR Charbok Char Charbok Cha Charboka Char Charbok (Why did you do that? I thought you want me to kill it? Why did you stop me?)" I said angrily.
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't stand to watch that Pikachu die."
"CHAR CHARBOK (HUMAN COMPASSION)!" I hissed.
"It's not just compassion Arbok." my master said. "No one except a psychopath could watch something die so brutally. I couldn't let you do it!"
I tried to revert my attention from her, and turned away. I did not want to listen to her anymore.
My master sighed and looked at Ash. He had mustered enough strength to crawl up to the unconscious Pikachu, and pick it up. Tears were streaming down his face. He focused his eyes on my master. They had the coldest expression I've ever seen.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "If I knew this would be the outcome of this fight, I would have never trained my Arbok to be a killer. I had indeed wanted her to kill your Pikachu, but I was angry, and irrational. I had never wanted it to end like this. This is not much, but I'm sorry." She paused and gave a long look at Ash. "I suppose what I wanted to show you is that you were wrong. My Arbok, can, and did beat your Pikachu. She is NOT WEAK," she said with more emphasis. "Arbok could have killed Pikachu if I had not stopped her. But Pikachu is alive, and I suggest you go now!"
Jessie gave Ash one last look, and signaled for James and Meowth to leave. After a moment of contemplating, I decided to follow her. Jessie was my master after all. I gave Ash one last look, and I left without hearing one word from him.
None of us had talked since the battle, I don't still think James was horrified from all that blood. His face was sheet white when I first saw him after the battle. That was just James, a real wimp when it came to body fluids.
I was foolish to think my master thought the same as me. She was a human after all, Jessie was not a pokmon, and could not think like one. It angered me a little, but I would have to live with it. And the compassion thing! How could she say that not letting me kill the Pikachu was not sentimental human compassion? It was just that! Hey wait a second, compassion. How did my master understand I said "human compassion"? Did she really understand my language?
I slithered over to her, and said the first thing since the battle "Charbok Char Charbok Charboka (Do you understand me master)?"
She paused before answering. "Yes. Yes I do! I understand." She had a big smile across her face.
"Char Char (You understand)?" I repeated. "Charbok (But how)?"
"I don't know. I just do. I think it was because of all the time you were out during the last couple of weeks. Our bond increased a lot. I understand you just in general a whole lot better."
"Charbok Char (Yes it did I agree,)" I said with a smile.
"Listen Arbok," my master started.
"Charboka Char Char Charbok (It's ok you don't have to explain,)" I interrupted. "Char Charbok Charboka Char Char Charbok (You are human and I'm pokemon. We are different,)" I said.
"Yes," my master agreed. "We are different. But yet, alike in many ways you may not know. All though we have a strong passion for battle, and even a stronger one for winning, we view battling differently."
"Charbok Char Charboka (Maybe you're right I understand)." I smiled.
"I'm glad that you do. Listen Arbok, as I said earlier, our bond has increased a lot since you've been out for the last couple of weeks. I know you like being out all the time better, and if you would like, I want you to stay out all the time."
"Charbok? Char Char (Really? I'm allowed to?)" I said excitedly.
"Yes really." My master gave me a little hug, and I wrapped my self around her. I hope I wasn't squeezing too hard this time! I gave her one last smile, and went back to my place at the rock.
James smiled too. He could tell that the uneasiness between us was gone, and he picked that time to talk to her. James walked up to my master, and sat beside her. After a moment, he began to talk.
"You and Arbok fought really well today. I'm really proud of both of you both." He gingerly put his arm around Jessie, and she did the same. "Jess," James started. "I know this sounds kind of corny, but I'm glad you're my best friend." He turned a little red.
Jessie smiled once again. I was happy she was doing it more often now. "I am too, James. I am too." She pulled him into a hug. It was a real touching scene, and what's funny about it is that I some how helped create it in a way.
"Whaaaaaaaaa!" I looked behind me, and could see that the Meowth burst into tears. I couldn't blame him. I gave a little snakey chuckle.
"Dat's so beautiful!" he said wiping away his tears. I never thought I would live to see such good vibes between you two. Heheheheheh, Jessie and James sitting..."
The two if them turned a bright red, and Meowth had to dodge a fan being hurled at him by Jessie.
"I'm just kidding! Boy!" He walked up to them, and sat up on James' lap. "I'm really happy for you two." He gave a genuine smile, and provided Jessie and James with a hug the best his little body could do. They hugged him back, both happy and content.
I got up off my rock going towards the three of them. I put my head on Jessie's lap, and she stroked me. I was feeling more like a Meowth than a snake. I closed my eyes and enjoyed their company. I'm sure we all did, and for the first time in my life, I felt like I was a part of a family. A struggling family, but I knew we would get through everything together from now on.
