I thought it was the best show I had ever seen. Though at the time there wasn't much compition for a show like that, and come to think of it there still isn't! Cartoons today could take a few classes from the writers of She-Ra, they seem so empty now adays, well thats only my opinion.
She-Ra, or Adora, is Adam's(He-Man) twin sister. Skeletor and Hordak(two very nasty guys) knew that the twins had a special destany, though no one knew just what. Hordak snuck in to steal the babies but Man of Arms came in half way through the kidnapping. He chased Hordak trying to get baby Adora back but Hordak went through a mysterious portal that closed. The sorceress tried to find him but the portal had taken him and Adora to another world and her powers were not that great. To help ease the pain of loosing baby Adora she cast a spell of forgetfulness on everyone but a choice few. Only she and these chosen one's could remember that Adam had ever had a sister.
Hordak had escaped to a world known as Etheria. Here he trained Adora as a Force Captian. She never knew of her past or her parents. She also never realized the true evil in which she was part of.
Back on Eternia one night many years after the kidnapping the Soceress had a dream about when Adora was kidnapped, when she awoke there in front of her was a sword just like He-Mans sword only it had a jewel in it. The sword led her to a portal like the one hordak had escaped through. She summoned Adam to come to her at once. She showed him the sword and told him to go through the portal to find the one the sword belonged to. The sword would let him know when he had found the person. So he went and found himself and his tiger Cringer in Etheria. He met Bow in a tavern, who after a fight took Adam to whispering woods to meet Glimmer the leader of the rebelion. The fight pissed Hordak off so he sent Force Captian Adora to capture the villagers. I don't remember how(well its been along time) she begins to realize that what she's doing is bad. So Hordaks Soceress puts a spell on Adora so that she'll sleep. But her dreams are interupted by the sword. Through the sword the Soceress tells Adora who she really is and what Adam(who has now changed into He-Man) is to her as well. She tells her what to say. "FOR THE HONOR OF GRAYSKULL...I AM SHE-RA!!!(her horse Spirit turns into the flying talking unicorn Swift Wind and Adora becomes She-Ra for the first time) She rushs off to save her brother from the energy sucking tank Hordak has put him in. Then again the Soceress tell Adora(this time her brother is there) her past. Only this time she goes into more detail and tells of the kidnapping. Huggy Kissy(the brother sister kind) and their off to save the Rebellion. To make a long story short. They do save the Rebellion and Adora saves Glimmer's mother to show that she has left the horde. Adora becomes the new leader of the Rebellion(none of her friends know who she is for a while and then for some reason its the most scatter brained characters that find out. This is all done in the first 90 minute episode, The Secret of the Sword. From there a wonderful series begins, sadly only to last 2 seasons.
