Quantum spacetime foam may produce a multitude of universes. There is then the anthropic notion that only those of the created universes which are able to inflate and eventually generate (intelligent or not?) life can preveil. This is perhaps the most known version of the Multiversal notion which is being currently supported by Martin Rees, Linde and others . The idea however traces back to poetic notions conceived by Antonio Machado. |
