Everybody laughed when Vitali Klitschko, as a little boy, said that he would be
world famous one day. No one could have imagined that his words would turn out
to be true.
As a child, Wladimir was a quiet boy. Many people thought that he would become a
philosopher who would lose himself in lonely meditation, somewhere in the
backwoods on some river bank. However, fate had other had other things in store
for him. Nowadays, many sceptics have to accept the fact that the names of
Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko are becoming more popular by the day. Their
ever-growing popularity is based on self-discipline, determination and
diligence.
Vitali Klitschko was born on July 19, 1971 in the Belovodsk settlement
(Kirghizia), Wladimir Klitschko - on March 25, 1976, in the Semipalatinsk city
(Kazakhstan).
Wladimir Rodionovich, their father, is an Air Force Colonel. Their mother -
Nadezhda Ulyanovna - is a clerk. The brothers, together with their parents
travelled all over the greater part of the Soviet Union. They moved to Ukraine
In 1985.
The boy's interest in various kinds of combat sport, gradually grew into a
passion for kickboxing for Vitali, and of boxing for Wladimir.
Vitali excelled at sport within a short period of time: he held kickboxing
championship titles six times (four times professionaly and twice among the
amateur ranks). He is a three time Ukranian super heavyweight boxing champion.
