Step 1:  Fruit Acid Treatments
Professional salicylic (AHA) and glycolic (BHA) acid peels followed by microdermabrasion remove several of the uppermost layers of the epidermis, leaving it cleaner and smoother while creating an opening through which impurities can be removed.

Glycolic Acid (AHA):  Glycolic acid works by gently dissolving the bonds that hold dead skin cells of the stratum cornium together, allowing these cells to be removed, thus uncovering the smoother, clearer cells underneath.

Salicylic Acid (BHA):  Salicylic acid is an excellent deep cleanser that dissolves oil, and penetrates clogged pores, softening impurities and facilitating extraction.  It also removes layers of epidermal skin, stripping away the dirt and debris clinging to the surface, and making your skin immediately cleaner, smoother and softer.

Furthermore, Fruit Acid has been clinically proven to promote faster cell turnover, and decrease the production of sebum, making your skin clearer and more luminous, and shrinking pores by eliminating blackheads and other impurities.  However, fruit acid exfoliation is just Step 1 of the process.

Step 2:  Microdermabrasion
This procedures mechanically removes layers of epidermal skin to produce immediate smoothing results.  It is a non surgical treatment to resurface your skin.  It works great on reducing fine lines, uneven skin tones, sun damage, acne scars, and injury scars.
Imagine having the dull, clogged upper layers of your skin first loosened, then sanded away to reveal the smoother, more refined surface beneath.  Microdermabrasion, performed in conjunction with a salicylic acid wash and glycolic acid exfoliation will leave your skin totally cleansed and noticeably smoother.  It will also open an escape route to allow extraction of impurities that are the cause of blemishes.
Immediately, from the first peel you will notice smoother clearer skin because the dull dead, clogged, coarse, scaly layers of your epidermis will be softened and blasted away to reveal the clearer, smoother surface underneath.  You will immediately see and feel a smoother, more refined surface.
Fruit Acid peel and microdermabrasion treatments, along with a good home care regimen will improve the overall appearance and quality of your skin.  With continued home use of Alpha and Beta-Hydroxy Acids, enlarged pores will diminish, acne scars will be less evident, and your skin will glow clean and luminous.

Step 3:  Skin Care Makeup
LaserPlus is a proud provider of Jane Iredale skin care makeup.  It provides total coverage, and feels like wearing nothing on the skin.  It leaves no fake pasty smear like liquid or stick cover-ups.  It gives you full, complete natural looking coverage, and does it without clogging your pores.  That's because Iredale Amazing Base contains only pure non reactive mineral pigment:  nothing to clog pores.  On the contrary, it helps keep pores clean and skin protected from the damaging rays of the sun.

What is Acne?
Acne is a condition affecting the sebaceous glands found in hair follicles.  Acne is caused by hormonal changes during puberty or other times that lead to increased production of sebum and keratin.  In some individuals, an excess buildup of sebum and keratin clogs the opening of hair follicles, encouraging formation of bacteria that leads to inflammation and pimples.  Pimples appear as raised red, sometimes pus-filled bumps when the clogged follicles become inflamed.  If the impurities have no escape route a cyst may form and these can spread.
The good news is that in most cases, the outward sings of Acne can be prevented or successfully treated topically. In every case, acne, no matter how severe of longstanding, will respond to some form of treatment with either topical treatments or a combination of topical treatments and therapeutic products in conjunction with medical intervention.

Bottom Line:  Acne is NOT something you need to live with or accept.

Helpful First Aid & Hints

Visine & Toothpaste:  The same stuff you use to clean your teeth and take the red out of eyes will also help reduce the redness of a pimple.  You may have already known about dabbing a small dot of toothpaste on a blemish to help dry it up, but if you make a paste using a white toothpaste and Visine, then apply it to the blemish, it will reduce the redness.  Leave it on for about 15 minutes.

A 2% Cortisone Preparation:  Sold over the counter, this will also help lessen the redness by reducing the inflammation of a blemish.  Avoid petroleum-based (listed as petrolatum) ointments.  these may clog pores.

Avoid Products that Dry the Skin:  Contrary to what you may think, these will only exacerbate your Acne problem by stripping the skin's acid mantle, the skin's natural defense against, among other things, invading bacteria and other irritants and impurities that are a cause of acne.
