SCIENCE LETTER to PARENTS
Credit Period Six--January 8-February 2, 1007
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

I'm glad your daughter/son is enrolled in BIOLOGY or EARTH SCIENCE for the second semester of school year 2006-2007.  Robert Ballard, Ph.D. has said that we're all born scientists. That's exciting!

Our studies this semester will hone these natural skills and provide NEW information and experiences. Science is a body of knowledge AND a process for learning. You can help with this learning process. Discuss what's being studied in class this week. Ask questions. Take time to explore the questions/topics listed in the
Science Letter to Parents. Your son/daughter will take notes about your discussion and submit these in class.

To meet State and Federal educational requirements, students take
tests in the Spring. To teach all of the material that's covered on the test, we pace our studies. These are listed on the Science Study Plan for the credit period and are available at our PEC Science Website:
http://www.geocities.com/pecglobalscience/sciencestudyplansintro.html

If your son/daughter is absent, they can "keep up" by following the instructions for the day on the plan.
