Science helps to solve problems. Science can solve some problems, but not all.
This semester in Global Science we are going to study what science is, the Geology of California, heat, temperature, and energy, structure of matter, waves and wave properties, and after all this, the house of the future exam.

How Stuff Works
Introduction to Science-- I learned how to measure weight on a balance by weighing powders in equal amounts. I also learned when working with things that can harm your eyes to always wear those funny glasses (goggles) no matter how dumb you look.
The Geology of California--In the Geology of California I learned what the natural resources of California are: water, soil, and forests. These resources are important. For example, forests help us with getting oxygen from the trees, and help us build things like houses and buildings. Also, the forests are a renewable resource. Another thing we did in Geology of California was that my partner, Shawny, and I got on the internet and studied what would happen to the birds if too many trees where cut down.
Animal StudiesIn my science class we have a guinea pig. His name is Licorice. In my animal studies assignment I learned how to clean the guinea pigs cage. I also learned that guinea pigs are not as scary as they look. The only thing that scared me was when I was holding him he made a screeching noise.
