Tweedy's Global Science

What I think about science. It is an important fact about everthing and everyone that cannot be set aside. It is an extremly important observation for humans, plants and animals.

This year we're going to study introducing science and projects. We will also study Storms, Ecology, Food, Resources, Genetics and Science project #2, Shelter, Disease, Flight and finally Technology and Inventions.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED!

Orientation to Global Science--What is science? This year I've learned many things. I learned how to light a burner and how to protect myself from harsh chemicals with safety goggles and with an apron. I also learned the four major bodies of science.

Shelter-Foundation & Materials-- This credit period I learned that in order to build an "Okay" home you must use the correct materials. I also learned that you can't count on foundations very much. You have to be careful where you build your home because of mudflows and landslides. The location is important because of earthquakes and sinkholes.

How much work does a person perform while carrying a load up a flight of stairs?--This is what I learned by doing this project. Work=f/t I learned that more work is done going up the stairs w/ books. The reason why is because you carry extra weight besides your own; it takes more force from the legs causing you to work harder going up the stairs.

In my group, Jordan did the most work (542.7 j/sec) and I did the next most work (364.3 j/sec).

Instead of carrying books, we could have used bricks.
