I think that science is neat to learn about because I get to learn about our ecosystem--a community of organisms and its environments. Its interesting to learn about what goes on in our ecosystem and how it functions. For example we learn about plants and animals and how they interrelate and interact.
Science is a tool that we use in our daily lives but we often dont realize it. For example if I have a garden I'll grow better crops if I know what to add to the soil and how to take care of plants. I like science because there are so many new things that to explore. I particularly enjoy experimenting with consumer goods. For example-xxxxxxxxxx.
Science can expand our boundaries when it comes to achieving knowledge.
The topics we are studying in Global Science this year include--1) Introduction to Science, 2) Geology of California, 3) Heat, Temperature and Energy. 4)Matter, Atoms, and the Periodic Table, 5) Waves and Wave Properties, 6)Electricity and Magnetism, 7) the Structure of Matter, 8) Motion, Force and Work, 9) Using Natural Resources, and 10) two projects--the Vehicle of the Future and Home of the Future.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED IN SCIENCE...
Introduction to Science--I learned about keeping safe while doing the safety lab. I learned about the appropriate clothing to wear in the lab like the goggles and the aprons so I won't get my clothing damaged or get my eyes burned. I also learned how to use the scientific tools correctly. For example I learned how to use the microscope and the balance and how to measure liquids in graduated cylinders. I also learned about the scientific law and the scientific method. The scientific law is established when the same results are observed without exceptions. Scientific method is an organized way to solve problems.
I think using the scientific method is an interesting way to learn.
REVISED Introduction to Global Science--
In this module, I learned the names of the different equipment and what each one is used for and I've done 2 experiments--the "plastic wrap" and the "chicken soup".
In the plastic wrap lab, we tested 3 different plastic wrap--Stretch Tite, Reynolds Blue and Iris. We were testing to see which plastic wrap would hold in moisture best. My hypothesis--XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. We tested our hypothesis 6 times. When we were finished with the experiment we found out that the blue plastic wrap kept the towel the wettest. My hypothesis was XXXXXXXXXXXX.
In the chicken soup lab we were testing to see if microorganisms are present in the air. My hypothesis was XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. We put 10 cm of distilled water in 2 of the test tubes and 10 cm of chicken soup in the other 2 tubes. We put all four tubes in boiling water for XXXXXXXXxx minutes to XXXXXXXXXXX them. After boiling, we put a cotton ball in one of the tubes with water and one with chicken soup. Our control was XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. We let them sit , we examined the tubes. Here's what we saw:
* Open chicken soup:
* Closed chicken soup:
* Open distilled water:
* Closed distilled water:
Conclusion: My hypothesis was XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx. We found out that the chicken soup tubes had microorganisms in them and the water ones were clear.
