LEVEL "A" ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
After picking one of the "A" Level Topics, complete the following:
* Go to the library or Internet and find three recent journal or magazine articles that relate to your topic. Recent means less than 5 years old. Make copies of each article.

* On a single sheet of paper, list the following for articles 1, 2, and 3:
-Title of Article
-Author
-Date of Article
-Location of article

* Read each article and take (
Cornell-format) notes on each one.

* When you're finished reading and taking notes on all three articles, write two good paragraphs (3-5 sentences or more per paragraph) stating your OPINION about the topic.  Make sure you mention some of the research in the articles you've read.

* Present your findings--oral or video, poster & brochure, website, booklet, PowerPoint, or other idea--work out details with your teacher.

* Turn in paperwork to Steve for evaluation and grade/credit posting. GRADING: 25%--title of article and magazine, author, date of article, and notes/summary on article, 25%--two-paragraph opinion (grammatically correct, scientifically accurate, clear thought-process, and reference made to research in paragraphs, 25%--5 point defense--ability to accurately answer 5 questions your teacher asks you about your topic, and 25%--how your present your findings
