The Porterville College Gallery is presenting a retrospective of Ginny Wilson's Blue Ridge Photography--May 11-27, 2005. Visit the presentation and complete the following to earn 1/2 credit of DCW/elective.

1. Who makes a good camera and why? OR How does a camera work? Research, write a 1-2 page paper w/ bibliography, and attach work.

2. Visit the presentation--Fine Arts Gallery at Porterville College. Click for a photo of the building on the outside and inside. Take paper to write and draw on along with a clipboard or other portable hard surface, and pencil(s) and pen(s). Get a parking paper from Ginny OR the reception person at the gallery. Exhibit will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 am-1pm and 5-7pm. Take a look at all of the artwork in the room, then complete the following:

2a. At the gallery--What's the origin of the word PHOTOGRAPHY? Define and attach...

2b. Present the development of Ginny's photography--
write 3-paragraph paper OR present it with words and
drawings on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper.

2c. Pick a photograph you really like...sketch it. Then
write a 3-paragraph paper including what you like about
the photo and why.

3. How did Ginny become involved in photography? Click HERE*, read, then write a paragraph. Include 3 to 5 mini-drawings around the edge of your paper depicting Ginny's life and journey.

4. Final paragraph--what did you like best about this project? Attach...
