HERBAL TEA RECIPES
Here is a list of my favorite tea herbs,but you can always chose your own favorites.You can use them together or by themselves.Make your own combinations and drink them hot or cold,sweet or not.I like to keep written records of all combinations and how I liked it or didn't.

PLAN AN HERBAL TEA GARDEN
A GREAT CUP OF TEA
1-Put the kettle on and boil the water.As the water is coming to a boil do this:
2-Warm a ceramic tea pot by putting hot water from the tapin the tea pot.Let this sit in your tea pot to warm the pot so that the boiling water will not damage your ceramic pot.
3-For every cup of tea,place 1 tabelspoon of fresh or 1 teaspoon of dried herbs in a tea ball or cloth strainer.
4-Pour the warm water out of the tea pot and put the tea ball into it.
5-Pour the boiling water into the ceramic tea pot with the herbs.
6-Steep covered for 5 to 10 minutes or to your taste.
7- Remove your herbs from the pot.
8- Serve hot or use ice and make a cold tea.If you use ice ,use more herbs in the tea mixture,or put your tea in the refregerator for a while before serving.

HERBAL SUN TEA RECIPE
It's easy to sun brew herbal teas! Fill a clean wide mouth gallon jar with hand-full of well washed herbs,top off with water,cover and place in the sun for 6 to 8 hours,shaking or stirring occasionally.
Be sure that the herbs are pesticide-free.Here are some popular mixes for sun tea.
**1/2cup each of the leaves and flowers of peppermint,beebalm and applemint.
**3 or 4 green-tea bags,plus 1/2cup of chamomile flowers,lemon verbena and speariment leaves.
**1/2 cup each peppermint,rosemary,and lemon balm leaves,3 sage leaves.
***********************************   Strain tea and add honey or sugar to taste.Pour over ice or drink it warm or hot...heat to taste..or use ice cubes.
ROSE GERANIUM TEA 
This warm,spicy tea will take the chill off a winter afternoon.
6 cups of water
3 teaspoons black tea(or 2 tea bags)
5 rose geranium leaves
6 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Put the water on to boil.Place the rest of the ingredients in a large tea ball or a small muslin bag and place in a warm teapot.Pour in the boiling water and steep,covered for 5 to 10 minutes.
Remove the tea ball or bag and serve.
GINGER TEA RECIPE
2 tabelspoons freshly grated or chopped ginger,(unpeeled).
4 cups water
1/2 lemon,sliced
Honey..to taste
1 stick cinnamon or cloves
In a medium sausepan over high heat,add ginger to the water.Add lemon and bring to a boil and continue boiling,uncovered,for about 15 to 20 minutes. Strain the liquid into cups and add honey to taste. For variety,add a cinnamon stick or cloves to the ginger.
RUNNY NOSE TEA - FOR A COLD
2 tablespoons dried echinacea root
1 teaspoon dried eyebright leaf and flowers
1/2teaspoon lemongrass
1teaspoon lemon balm leaves
1 teaspoon dried peppermint leaves
In a covered sause pan,gently simmer the echinacea root in 4 cups of water to create a decoction.Reduse the tea down to 3 cups of liquid.Remove the pan from the heat,add the remaining herbs,cover the pan and steep for 5 to 10 minutes.Strain and use 1/2 cup 3 times a day.
TEA MIX FOR STUFFY NOSE
Blend equal parts of these dried herbs.
Peppermint
Lemon balm
Yarrow
Put this mix into an air tight jar,glass if you have it.Put in a dark place.BE SURE to label your mixes and put the herbs you used on the label.When you get a cold use 1 teaspoon of your blend for every cup of water.Steep the mix in hot water for 5 to 10 minutes.. 1 cup 3 times a day.
BASIC METHODS FOR HERBAL PREPARATIONS

BED TIME TEA
1/4 cup of dried German chamomile
2 tabelspoons dried mint
2 table spoons dried lemon or orange peel
Mix this together and put in a air tight glass jar.  Makes about 20 cups of tea.
1 teaspoon to a cup of water-warm
1tablespoon to 1 cup if iced.
LAID BACK TEA
1/2 cupdried Chamomile
3 tablespoons dried rose hips
2 tablespoons orange peel
1-2 inch cinnamon stick
makes 25 cups tea...1teaspoon tea to 1 cup of water.
