| Another regular appointment, five weeks since our last one. Not much to report, everything looked fine - including the little one, who is not so little anymore. Already 2 kg, who would believe that?? Well, I would... everything's getting more difficult (turning over in and getting out of bed, getting out of the bath tub (!), climbing stairs, tying my shoes, just to mention a few situations!) - altogether i've gained 10 kg since the beginning of my pregnancy. My gyn seemed quite pleased that I've discontinued my daily intake of Swedish cakes (!), as I've only added another 2 kg since my last appointment 5 weeks ago. Nevertheless I reached another milestone this week: the last button on my maternity pants. Ok, they were size small, but still... Since I'd been having very frequent braxton hick contractions, I had an internal examination to make sure all is ok. And it is, everything nice and closed, head up high. Talking about head, apparently our 100% average baby added to his/her reputation by having taken his/her birth position - no more breech. So much for secretly wishing for a c-section...! Guess we really need to listen to the midwife at our weekly child birth class, which we started last week... I'd heard that the frequency in prenatal appointments increase once you're around this stage of pregnancy. We were told before leaving to come back again in 5 weeks - and then after that the checkups will be more frequent. Well next time I'll be just about 37 weeks, how many checksups can she do after that?? Heck, the baby may even be here by then... Our gyn said she'd register us at the hospital of our choice, Maternit Inselhof Triemli, immediately and then we'd receive a note from them within a few days. Haven't heard anything yet, hope she didn't forget... |
