Isalena finally arrived 3 days after her due date, on november 7. We had a pretty rough ride: Labor started saturday night 6:30 PM and were quickly 10-20 minutes apart. As i was afraid of being sent back home, we didn't head for the hospital till sunday morning, when the contractions were app. 3 minutes apart, at 7:80 AM. Once at the hospital they slowed down a bit, at 12:30 PM my water broke and, as I had predicted, I yelled for an epidural, chicken me. Unfortunately it only worked on the right side... after many many more hours i was fully dilated and isalenas head visible (Fluppi could see her hair)- but apparently stuck... They wanted to suck her out, but she was still too high and due to my epidural I wasn't able to help with gravity (my right leg wouldn't hold me up). At 11:15 PM all the docs decided it was time for a cesarian. Whatever, as long as they get her out safely!! Since my epidural wasn't working properly they had to lay a spinal anesthesia - after which i started shaking wildly, yikes!! But out she came in only a few minutes and with a healthy scream. Slightly blue, but healthy (apgar 9/9/10, less points due to color). Our perfect little princess! 53 cm long, 3820 kg, born 11:50 pm sunday night.
