"The Coming of Light"

Every so often, as the lore goes, the clergy of every religion of Temuair gathers in one place, under what they term a Dagoba.  There are stories told of one Dagoba, perhaps long ago, perhaps yet to come.

At this Dagoba, it is said, the forces of darkness will appear.  The sky will grow dark, and the minions of Chadul will arise to claim all faith in the land for himself.  The priests of each faith will try to overcome the Dunan and Servitors, but to little avail.  The massive horde of darkness will cause an alliance of desperation between the eight faiths.

Prayers will, it is said, be offered to the one deity who can banish the darkness, Danaan.  With the prayers from each of the "lesser" eight religions, a great rumbling will echo through the skies.  The darkness of the sky will part and a shaft of light will shine down from the heavens, and a Minion of Light will appear.

The shimmering warrior of light is said to slice through the minions of darkness in short order.  For darkness cannot last long when so bright a light is shined upon it. With the Dagoba spared from torture and ruin, the clergy will go to the minion of the divine light to thank it for its saving of their holy festival.

The closest of the clergy, it is said, will be slain on the spot in a blaze of holy fire.  As their charred corpses fall to the ground, the remaining holy Aislings will stare at the Minion of Light in awe and fear.  The divine warrior will speak then, it is said, calling the assembled masses "poor excuses for tuatha de danaan."

"The lesser gods have tainted ye," it will accuse.

"You follow that scoundrel Fiosachd too much, his greed has infected ye to your soul.", would be the first of the crimes.

"You fail to listen to the teachings of Danaan's kin!"

"You know not the balance of Cail, nor the compassion of Glioca.  And if Deoch's spark shone but a flicker in your minds you would not need have summoned the holy wrath of Light upon these vermin who assaulted ye this day, for each of you carries a spark of the divine light within you, and against this Darkness cannot stand."

"Luathas's knowledge could have spared you thusly."

The Minion will, it is written, continue its accusations as it goes about the priests of the Dagoba, slaughtering them for their lack of faith in the Divine Light.  Only a handful will be spared.

And they, the lucky few, will spread throughout the land, to teach the lesson they learned during that ill-fated Dagoba:

Call not the Light to shine upon you if you have not been as pure as the Light itself.
